The New DonaldsA New Donald is "a hill in Central or Southern Scotland at least 2000 feet high (610m) with a drop of at least 30 metres (98 feet) all round". The Donalds are named after Percy Donald and his original list of hills over 2000 feet in the Scottish Lowlands. These "old" Donalds were based on a complicated formula for determining separate hills, and comprised 87 hills plus a number of other named "Tops". All the original hills are included in the New Donalds, but some of the Tops do not qualify, and there are some additional New hills which never appeared in Donald's list. (Donalds appear as Type=D on this website). Please note that many of the Donalds grid references are only 6 digit. My ProgressI have completed 0 (0%) of 118 New Donalds.
