1/10 A 4hr 20 min solo afternoon circuit from Kerrara jetty linking 10 closely packed small hills on the southern fringes of Oban. Hard going as much rough moorland, dead bracken, forests, random fire breaks, and a reservoir to loop around. Dramatic 30m high west facing relic coastal cliffs here made from conglomerate rock - a loose looking matrix of boulders (some weighing half a tonne) and pebbles naturally cemented together. Despite its crumbly looking nature fort builders have favoured its impregnable defences both here and north of Oban at Dunstaffnage Castle, as well as a modern day house on Pulpit rock overlooking Oban. Here, wire netting bolted to the cliffs and rock fall barriers protect the minor road below. I took good path (Pulpit Walk) from Kerrara jetty, then doubled back up minor paths through scratchy dead bracken stalks up and another down to gate at col with a deer bounding away. | Chris Pearson | 12/11/2023 |
Up track from Ferry. Nice little top. | PeterD | 23/05/2019 |
From the ferry. Razor sharp visibility showed off the view at its best. | hillsman | 04/05/2019 |
After Druim Mòr. Track northwards from about 836278 for 300 metres or so, then through gate on left and across rough pasture to join summit footpath coming up from track above Kerrera Ferry. Milder than earlier; overcast, but dry; no wind. Views up and down Sound of Kerrera, but sunset approaching. Down by footpath and track to ferry slip, then Gallanach Road into Oban. | mainnirnamfiadh | 02/01/2019 |

7th and penultimate tump of the day with Charles Everett, having climbed Druim Mor, then taken the Ferry to Kerrera where we did a circuit to complete all the tops. We parked up next to a convenient track, heading NW at NM83711 28145, then followed the ridge to the summit. Really attractive top with good views, marked the summit as NM 83450 28112. descended more steeply then over a fence to the track, continuing up the road for the last tump, Bar Cruinn. | Dazingdale | 11/05/2018 |

An appendix to a day on Kerrera. Up the track behind the ferry to about 10 or 20 metres before the first gate, then right on a distinct footpath to the summit. Return the same way to the gate, then the track to Oban as signposted by the Scottish Rights of Way Society. | mainnirnamfiadh | 23/06/2015 |
