Parked by the bridge near the road end in Glen Prosen for a circuit of Hill of Strone, Eskielawn, Bruntshields and The High Tree.PGCE21/02/2024
Parked on verge N of Cormuir in Glen Prosen. Opening the gates onto the ScotWays signed hill track to Glen Isla is a puzzle worthy of the Krypton Factor. Thereafter it is easy going, even after veering off the path to follow Eskielawn's N ridge. It is worth avoid the direct route through a shallow corrie which is home to many tussocks. On the way back, I followed the ridge as far as the summit of Hill of Strone before cutting down steeply through heather to the track.Nick Down111/10/2023
From parking at top end of Backwater reservoir. Clockwise on tracks, with detour through Harran and Milldewan plantations on return leg. With Inez and Zoe (riding Queenie).clashcityrocker01/05/2023
Circuit of Corwharn and nearby tops from parking by reservoir at NO260598. Creigh Hill South Top, then Creigh Hill. Continued to N, descending to beallach W of Craig of Balloch. Climbed Milldewan Hill and then along easy undulating ridge to Corwharn. Continued to Eskielawn and Bruntshields, Black Binks and a short steep ascent to Cuilt Hill. Descended to track and road back to start. Mist and rain for much of route.RobertP18/03/2023

Eskielawn from picnic area near top end of Backwater Reservoir,. Had buke but decided to walk it all. Easy going all the way with a grassy track to pass within 50 yards of summit. Drove round then to Waterhead for Hill of Mondurran. Equally straightforward. Dropped down to cross bridge after last house, roughish path for 400 metres then easily straight up the wall to the summit track and along to summit.dickscroop22/05/2022
From the Backwater viewpoint carpark, past Glenhead Farm and Hole. Then through the plantation on the lower grassy track, and up track to Eskielawn. Part of round continuing onto Craigie Thieves.benalder28417/04/2022

From the Backwater viewpoint carpark, (no parking places beyond this) past Glenhead Farm and Hole. Then through the plantation on the lower grassy track, and up track to Eskielawn. Then NNW along ATV tracks to Bruntshields. Down SW to col, and back over Black Binks and Cuilt Hill. These had worn routes through the heather.Minto15/03/2022
Second visit this time to take in a further 8 tumps in the area.NormanW15/03/2022
From the Backwater viewpoint carpark past Glenhead Farm and Hole then through the recently felled Drumshade Plantation to Hill of Strone. Along the fence line up to Eskielawn then NNW along ATV tracks to Bruntshields. Headed back via Black Binks and Cuilt Hill, both of which had worn routes through the heather and long grass making passage relatively straightforward.summitter23/01/2022
Parked Backwater 256614. After Hole, the lower forest road is clear of fallen trees, then its an easy atv track to within metres of the top.NormanW15/01/2022
Parked at the carpark at the N end of Backwater Reservoir (NO 2564 6145). Up to Glenhead Farm and round E of Cuilt Hill, past Hole, and took the higher track going N in the wood. This track is currently blocked by fallen trees at the N end, so dropped through the wood to the alternative track to a gate. Followed the snow covered track all the way to the summit. Descended more directly S, then SW to the edge of the forest and the logging track. Lovely wintery views from the top.LizH10/12/2021
