Round of Hill N of Glen Prosen from good packing in quarry near Buckhood. Fairly direct climb to The Goal, then along ridge to Craigs of Lethnot, Hill of Couternach, Coremachy, Cairn of Barns and Hill of Strone. Return along ridge, bypassing summits of Cairn of Barns and Coremachy, and climbed Knachly and Hill of Spott on return. Cold on the higher tops, but good views to Lochnagar and stayed dry. | RobertP | 01/08/2023 |
With Bob and Brian. Now across Glen Cally to the other TUMPS. | Play2End | 05/02/2023 |
A delightful clockwise round of three tumps, Hill of Spott, Knachly and The Goal and a Hump, Hill of Couternach from great parking in the old quarry just west of Buckhood cottage, much better than the verge near the bridge. Mainly good paths and tracks. | Minto | 18/12/2021 |
After Knachly on a glorious winter walk in a clockwise direction, with Minto. My 100th Hump for 2021. | NormanW | 18/12/2021 |
Walked from The Goal, on a convenient but unsightly track. Descended from the col to the SE, across the western slopes of the hills back to the gate at NO35489 63804. Some good animal tracks, and more pleasant than the higher track as a return route. | LizH | 14/12/2021 |
Up the ugly track, back along a very boggy stream. | AndyS | 26/05/2021 |
We walked from Glenprosen village up a track and turned right to start on the ridge which we walked all the way to the tower. we back tracked to not go over the road back to the village and came down at the track from the goal. very pleasant walk on a very windy day. | tallblond | 25/01/2020 |
An anti-clockwise circuit of Glen Cally from the Cotgibbon Plantation. Stone tracks or ATV tracks all the way made this a quick walk, taking in The Goal (great name!), Craigs of Lethnot, Hill of Couternach, Hill of Balbae and Cairn Leith before heading onto the western slopes of Knachly and Hill of Spot then back to the road and car. 3.40hrs in all. | summitter | 28/12/2019 |
parked on grass verge next to gate at 354635 the goal, craigs of lethnot, hill of couternach, hill of spott, knachly, balnaboth craig, down to track and picked up bike from the hostel for cycle back to the car. | robertphillips | 15/12/2019 |
