22 mins of pushing hard across 2km of bog from last summit of Cnoc uadhall N top in decaying daylight and rainy gloom to summit at 10.44pm aiming to reach Bendronaig bothy before dark at 11.20pm -made it by 11.15pm - on longest day. Splashed easily across the river -just as well as the bridge 1km west is destroyed I saw next day. Fire lighters and wood -gratefully lit to try to dry out and keep warm -naked in my ultra light sleeping bag lying on the wooden floor during 3hr 'sleep' during darkness.
This was 11th of 21 summits on a 14 hour overnight bagging adventure on the shortest night having left Attadale at 6.45pm then 15 kms of lonely rough grass and bog over 11 assorted tops to reach Bendroniag Bothy. Left at 3.30am at first light for 10 more tops in rain and cloud and 18km back to Attadale for 9.00 am to make flight home from Inverness. Went along summit broad ridge covering 3 possible highpoints. | Chris Pearson | 21/06/2016 |
