A much better outing than expected, walked from Archway to Hamstead tube stations via Parliament Hill. Busy roads cross the levelish summit area with no distinguishing high point. There's a large duck pond set in paved area between roads, a very tall flag pole with streaming flag in area of uncut grass. There’s a war memorial on the N side of the summit area and a raised covered reservoir within iron railings on the S side. Reservoir is topped by the Hamstead Scientific Soc. Observatory. High point could be trees/grass next to Summit Lodge to W of pond or the pavement on Lower Terrace. Seems at least possible that the reservoir was built at the natural high point. 49 minute walk from home with Philippa for my 300th recorded visit to the top. Followed up with a 2 hour walk around the Heath and back home via Primrose Hill. Actual number of ascents is far higher but I did not start recording them until 2009.trimarc203/06/2020

Visited summit for 452nd time today. The snow of the last 2 days, has gone but there is still ice on the pond. It is about a 3 mile walk from home so with various route deviations, including Primrose Hill, this is a 9/10 mile round walk for me.trimarc227/01/2020
