A more straightforward munro day today as I have to drive home this evening. Beinn an Dothaidh West Top and summit, Beinn Dorain North Top and summit, but I did make an extension to Meall Tionail which I enjoyed, some good views walking around what is probably the more dramatic side of the range. Notes: They say this is a good mountain to view from the road, from here the view of the road is probably not so exciting! But there are good views, just a little hazy now. /Dmeltdiceburg18/06/2023

Solo, running, glorious blue sky, sunshine, firm snow. The long ridge S to bag Dorain was trying, with softer snow, ups and downs, seemed a very long way. Way back N not so bad, and descent very pleasant knowing what I'd achieved, though R eye had a pink tinge for next few days as I hadn't worn sunglasses, d'oh! With friend. From Bridge of Orchy railway station. We walked under the railway line at the station and up the path to Coire an Dòthaidh and the col at 744m. Snow was lying at and above the col. We went south following a path, but deviated off it when it became unclear where it was going. We reached the subsidiary top and then the summit of Beinn Dorain. We returned to the col, taking a somewhat more direct line to the col. We continued to Beinn an Dòthaidh, Beinn a’ Chuirn and Beinn Mhanach, reaching the road near Auch.pwbellarby06/11/1999

Two friends and I, all 17 years old, climbed it from the farm of Auch on the south where we camping with Scouts. We must have crossed the railway line and just headed straight up. We had not told leaders where we were going so when we returned a few hours later we got hell and quite rightly too! Met party on top who were surprised we had come up that way as there is no path - we just scrambled up I suppose with the impetuosity of youth.JMLB13/06/1971
