Parked at Loch Glascarnoch, conditions v.cold with plenty of fresh snow fallen on morning as driving up. Superb views, visibility excellent except right on summit, which then cleared as I heard down. The mountain had a good sense of humour. Enjoyed the walk, 2 hours 2 mins to summit, hard going in snow. Company: Soloiandesbottes07/02/2024
Solo from A835 layby near Loch Glasgarnoch. Headed directly up to Meall Daimh, across heathery, grassy terrain (and an annoying deer fence), then from there directly over to the corbett summit. Descended ENE down some rough/peat hag terrain until I reached a track which I followed back out to the A835, then back along the side of that busy road to the car. Wetter than an otter's pocket with no views but glad to have done it at least. Total time: 2h 28min.mproudfoot12/07/2023
en route to Gairloch. Relatively straightforward after the deer fence had been scaled.langskill26/08/2022
From the side of Loch Glascarnoch. Mist cleared as I approached the top. Saw a family of ptarmigan just below the summit.dal21/07/2022
From parking near Torrandhu bridge (NH277742), then through pine woodland on estate track from NH280740 to a high point ca NH268726, then direct up Cnap a' Ghiubhais Lì (passing under a deer fence, at a place used by the deer) and on up to the summit of Beinn Liath Mhòr a' Ghiuthais Lì, working through blocky areas, down to NE via Meall Daimh, N to corner of woodland (and makeshift stile over deer fence), to A835, and back to start (3h20m)kdbennett23/06/2022

Unmapped track NH280741 (spot height 262 to north). Left track NH267726 - easy going to topcarole engel30/08/2021
Solo fr parking at NH276742, took wrong track early and crossed boggy ground slowly till finding it just before leaving trees! Thankfully the peat groughs are still dry - been dry underfoot all this summer after below average rainfall - and easily to top, overcast but with bits of brightness, descent became warm.NorfolkPT2120/08/2021
Parked at bridge and went up track to highest point, then up to a cut in the deer fence. Realised this was a ATV track from further down (used as a return route). Fairly simple, some bogs, steep grass and boulders. Almost 3 hours in total.Jhimmy01/08/2021
Parked on the northside of the bridge at 278742. Good track through the coniferous woodland and at the high point headed uphill, over deer fence and directly uphill SE direction which was decent underfoot. With CM. Just over 3 hours. Very windy and cloud cover on top.bolton17/07/2021

Via the forestry track (bikeable) to deer fence (gate broken down). Up the shoulder, quite steep at first. Horrible stony summit. Cloudy above 650m and a bit of drizzle.iangalbraith15/10/2020
A morning walk from A835, Abhainn an Torrain Duibh bridge following track SSW to edge of forest then directly by ridge to summit & return. A bright mild clear day with mist lifting from the Fannichs.Vin17/09/2020
From A835 layby, over deer fence and then a fairly direct approach skirting Meall Daimh.rhalstead29/08/2020
Nice walk today, if slightly boggy up Beinn Liath Mhor a’ Ghiuthais (768m) a Corbett, roughly halfway between Ullapool and Inverness. Accessed from a layby on the A835 east of the Torrandhu Bridge, via Meall Daimh (533m) a Dodd (minor hill, but still a category). I reached the Corbett summit in just under 2hrs and back to the car via a forestry track parallel to the watercourse Abhainn an Torrain Duibh, in 4hrs. Didn’t see another sole, once I left the layby. The views of the Fannaichs to the west and Beinn Dearg group of Munros tot eh north were amazing, in between the showers, though I was thankfully quick dry.chillyman819/07/2020
Solo. Very windy. Staying in Ullapool.iansm16/09/2019

Off at one, back at four... The best day of an iffy weather week in Gairloch. With J, Shaky & Smithy from the bridge over the Abhainn an Torrain Duibh on the A835. SE over the bridge along the road to the track leading into the now sparse woodland. At the end of the woodland, a broken gate gave access to the slopes leading relentlessly to the summit for a brilliant view. Two hares kept a close eye on us at the top clearly on the scrounge for titbits. They may have found half a BBQ flavour Hula Hoop after we left... Back by the same route. The track now goes well beyond the mapped extent dropping to cross the river via a newish bridge & continues towards (& is signposted for) Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich.NotReallyABagger21/05/2019

From the weather station at the west end of Loch Glascarnoch. Followed the track through the forest, where there is a broken gate at the end which gives access to the hill. Thereafter headed straight up. Was bagging the bolt in the summit cairn.BigJ17/04/2019
From Layby at 289738 where a deer fence can be climbed over at the eastern end of the new forest. Easy slopes over Meall Daimh to misty summit but fine views on the way.mindlessflogger20/12/2018

Solo. Late decision as still recovering from illness and didn’t know how I’d feel after yesterday’s Munro. But a glorious day so couldn’t resist. Chose this local(ish) short walk. Weather was so good and views so great that I extended on both ascent and descent by doing extra loops. Actually wondered about coming back down early it was SO HOT!! Glad I didn’t. The climb itself may not be terribly interesting but the views from the top were out of this world. Very happy to be able to climb hills again.Maggie27/05/2018
Meall Diamh & Beinn Liath Mhor a'Ghiubhais Li from A835 at Loch Glascarnoch. On own.MorecambeMonkey06/05/2018
Icy cold. Snow and hail blizzards made this easy hill into a full-on winter expedition. I was grateful to see a shelter cairn on top! Solo.Dangerous Dave23/03/2018
61st – Solo. From Aultguish Inn, follow Allt Giubhais Beag S, then W between two woods on map, ascend hill taking in tops Meallan Caoruinn, Beinn Liath Bheag, Meall na Speireig, and finally the Corbett. Return retrace then head NE to Meallan a Gharuidhe and back to Aultguish Inn. Lower down very boggy, there are probably better starting points for this hill. Cloudy, but above the lower tops, light rain for a few hours.RGibbs21/09/2017

A valentine's day walk to prove I love the mountains. Skiting along the frozen bogs on west side of the Abhainn an Torrain Dubh in heavy snow showers, I was trying to work out how to cross it, with all the boulders both above and below the water encased in ice. But there's a bridge above the forest, which isn't on the map, yay! I followed the landrover track back a way (also not on the map), and found the atv track going up a fire break up the hill. The final climb to the top was surprisingly awkward, over a mixture of hard ice, soft snow and boulders, but I got spectacular views from the top before the next snow storm blew in. An easy walk down the track to the road; the fresh snow made it miles easier to walk on the sheets of ice.Gill14/02/2016

Climbed with someone Imet at Aultguish Inn who kindly gave me a lift back to Inverness. Beautiful weather. Started at Fannich track then followed a land rover track up hill. Reached summit in 1hour 45. Nice walkmunromurph19/04/2015
Quick up and down along with Meall na Speireig to beat the forecast snow and wind. just made it. Awkward boggy/heathery ground I places especially on descent form latter top, could perhaps have found a better line with a bit more care.dickscroop29/03/2015

Solifluction boulder ramparts or a pile of old rocks - discuss.Someone has eaten the trig. Have lanced a boil (or is it boiled a lance) as this is my second attempt. Last time the forest track was impassable because of deep soft snow. Nice walk.Martin R20/10/2013

Quick afternoon ascent (2h total) with Dad. Did circular. Easy walk, but this mountain is not up to much to be quite frank.AGWilliamson18/09/2012
Best for the views rather than the hill itself. Short climb just to shake out the legs the day after Wilderness Challenge; that and a swim in the river afterwards worked out fine.Colinmac200519/08/2012
