From end of the road at Braemore. Good estate road to Corrichoich, then boggy moorland track to base of the hill, then nice wee track leads up to the top. On to Carn Mor, Smean, Maiden Pap and return for an 18k round.jonglew15/11/2023
Route as per jonglew. A fabulously sunny, dry day. Spectacular views from the summit. Morven, Carn Mor, Smean & Maiden Pap, with Helen & jonglew.Dangerous Dave15/11/2023
From Maiden Pap. Narrow path south off Maiden Pap, then yomped across good grassy and heathery terrain to the north of Carn Mor, never dropping below 270m, with some sheep trods. Found the narrow path up through the heather from the col, better than expected except for an unavoidable bouldery section around 550m. Cloud base just below the summit sadly.Owen B17/09/2023
from Braemore then track on S side of river. Rough footpath continues to col and then up to summit, though it is sometimes difficult to pick it up again after the various boulder fields. Coupled it with Smean and Maiden Pap. One more Graham to go!IanHHill26/06/2023
From 'phone box car park at Braemore, up track to Corrichoich, then intermittent ATV/footpath to col with Carn Mor. Took to heather, later small boulders with occasional indistinct path (deer?) and odd cairn across boulder field and good path to summit. Reasonable views all around; Small Mount very appealing! Back to col and on to Scaraben.....MichaelF16/05/2023
Clockwise circuit of Morven and Scaraben etc from Braemore. Good path up gully on SW side as previous reports though traverse to get to it not so obvious.daviemore16/07/2022
The first hill on a round followed by Carn Mor, Smean and Maiden Pap.Peterb07/08/2021
Cycled from Braemore ro Corrichoich then faint track and path up to col under summit. A footprint path can be followed up the east face to 540m but above that scree makes it intermittent. Clouds descended over summit just before I reached it.Topographer5703/07/2021
Wish I'd read beeliner comments. Found path referred to halfway up having started through heather and boulders. Much the easiest way up and down.davefh25/06/2021
Cycled from Braemore to Corricoich. Walked ATV track to col with Smean, then vague footpath to top. Great summit. Returned via Smean.willyross10/06/2021
Perfect November weather. The usual route to Morven from Braemore, ATV track from Corricoich then good path all the way. On to Carn Mor, a rocky cockscomb, then to Smean. I ended up traversing the summit ridge, not realising that there's an easy way up the gully in the middle. Greasy rock in the cold, so all fives needed on the way down. An ATV track runs down all the way from the summit plateau to Corricoich, faint in places.Gill25/11/2020
This hill first attracted us to this area having seen it from afar on previous holidays. From Braemore (parked by Phone box) and the 1841 bridge. Followed footpath signed Morvern through Estate - track takes you to Corrichoich (old Farmhouse) then path flanks edge of Carn Mor to reach Morvern - steep climb up (but a Joy) - fabulous views across the flow country and mountain views close to and distant. Small Mount with its grey mosaiced top just below. After the steep descent followed Coire Riabhach back to Berridale Water where we explored the aincent Aidsled House ruin. Then track back to Braemore.briandavies17/09/2020
From Braemore by the tourist route and back the same way. KeithByTheC03/09/2020
From road end at Braemar and along track and then paths and some tussocky grass to Morven summit. Ten across country in fine weather to Scaraben and Scaraban east to drop down to start. A longish day but enjoyabledickscroop08/08/2020
From end of road Braemore, estate track to Corrichoich headed straight up from east small patch of loose conglomerate scree & larger boulder field, left of outcrop where slope eased . On way down found a path SEish which avoided boulders & scree but was steep. In clag drat.rogreeves03/07/2019
From road end, along track till faint path heads towards col. then up trying to follow path of sorts, trying to avoid boulders as much as possible. Once at lower top easy path to HP. Great views, although a little hazy in the distance. Back via Carn Mor, Smean and Maiden Pap.PeterD23/06/2019
As bee liner except in fine weather. Tough going after Corrichoich but despite this it was a really enjoyable hill. With MN.trimarc221/05/2019
With E. From end of road near Braemore Lodge. Followed track to Corrichoich. To col between Morven and Carn Mòr using bits of paths wherever possible. Contoured round to ND0088727951 then up wide heather clad gully. A tough lung busting climb up gully and to summit. Cloud descended on final ascent and refused to budge until back down when clear skies reappeared!Beeliner09/09/2018

2nd ascent of Morven, ran in from Braemore in glorious weather.Bracolbag 18/07/2017
A good 10.5 mile walk and climb, sadly the cloud stuck stubbornly to the peak so no views. We climbed straight up the east side, but returned SSE which would have been a better ascent.callumorr22/07/2016

Steep climb. Great long distance views.BigJ14/07/2015
Took estate track from Braemore to Corrichoich - W. alongside river on sheep/deer tracks to tributary at 024494 - SW beside stream on sheep/deer tracks before heading up to col - Contoured round to SE side of hill to approx. 010278 - Headed up towards the left side of the wide heather-clad gully with boulder fields either side & rocky outcrops above. A path starts from the left and then goes up the centre of the gully. From the top of the gully a short walk to the summit. (S)gerrybowes18/10/2014

round of 4 marilyns from braemore.robertphillips07/06/2014
W Jenx on the round of the 4 Marilyns; Maiden Pap, Smean, Morven and Scaraben. A 9 hour day in generally good weather, very wet underfoot though after the dowsing yesterday. Up from Braemore - Maiden Pap, Smean and then direct up the East face of Morven. A reasonable path develops that takes you into the boulder field, comes out on the upper left side. Contour around the initial stack, to its left to the summit. Great spot. King of the Mountains!nordicstar06/06/2014

Asked the gamekeeper at Braemore. No problem. The climb is straightforward if you can find the faint path between Carn Mor.bolton06/08/2013
Solo. From end of public road near Braemore Lodge. Followed track to Corrichoich. To col between Morvern and Carn Mòr using bits of path of sorts. Went directly up to summit using path I found. Heathery to start with and then conglomerate boulders. Extensive views from summit. Used gully on SE side for descent.pwbellarby02/08/2013

Finally, I've waited a long time to ascend this hill, it was well worth it. Found a reasonable route up the south east side. Great views to Hoy and Cairngorms.sotabagger26/05/2013
Ascent from the east by the usual route. Very clear day.fasgadh23/07/2010
From Breamore Lodge, with MoraBLACKHILL27/05/2010
Long hot walk in from Braeval enlivened only by occasional hailstorms. Excellent views to both North and South with haze in the west. Views of Maiden Pap are convincingly the most breast like hill of this or similar names that I have seen.andy09/05/2009

My last Scottish County top. From road end at Braemore on an excellent road past the bothy at Corrichoich for coffee at 11.00. Faint green path making straight for the hill, which faded out among cotton grass and heathery tumps. Into a bealach and up over steep heather slopes. Rocky slides showing evidence of previous walkers. Whole hillside covered in pink conglomerate rocks. An easy clamber over a last 15' rock band and 200' over peat and grass. 12.45. Massive views including Ben Loyal and the Orkneys.arranc16/06/2008
