Conival, Ben More Assynt plus south topGeoff Briggs21/11/2023
By standard out-and-back from Inch Lodge after Shills meet. Warm and sunny at bottom (keds), into the clag, cold rain and stiff breeze, then out above clouds on traverse between summit. BMA in sunshine with views down to Shin. Inversion to N and S of arete. Cleared totally about 4pm, by which time I was nearly down. Rounsfell09/10/2023
Round of Conival, Ben More Assynt and Ben More Assynt South Top. Took the good path in from Inchnadamph and up Conival. Across the ridge to Ben More Assynt via it's W top and up to the munro summit. Followed the path across the ridge to the S top - it's a fairly pleasant ridge in summer, no real exposure or technical sections (just one lump of rock that can be clambered over or around). Headed south after the S top and then before the ascent to Carn nan Conbhairean, dropped very steeply down the side of a gully to the valley floor, and then skirted west of Dubh-Loch Mor and up to the bealach between Conival and Breabag, and then the intermittent path back out to the original inbound track, and back to Inchnadamph. Total time 7h 11min - very hot day.mproudfoot17/06/2023
Walk in from Inchnadamph up Conival and along ridge to Ben More Assynt. Relatively easy day. Cloud base at 900 metres although cloud cleared as I descended. Time taken 7 hours 15 minutes. Although I spent a lot of time chatting and then relaxing on the summits. Distance 11.5 miles 3868 feet of ascent.isabelle06/06/2023

From Inchnadanph. Via caves to Am Bealach, Dubh Loch Mor. Steeply up to ridge just S of Carn nan Conbhairean. South top, Ben More Assynt, Conival and return via Allt a Choinne Mhill. Last hour in darkness. 9 hour walk. With B and R.jenx29/11/2022
On own. Weather perfect with cloud level above summits all day giving fantastic views throughout. From the public car park in front of Inchmadamph Hotel via Conival and Ben More (Assynt) West Top returning by the same route. The route between Conival and the ridge to Ben More Assynt was extremely tough going and needs taking slowly and carefully amongst the boulders.Beeliner11/09/2022
Cornival and Ben More. Camped at around 800m and had an early start.Nicky C16/08/2022
2/2 ....along ridge to summit. Airy but minimal exposure. Think this would be excellent in winter. Some clearing of clouds to reveal very extensive views to vast open spaces to North. Walk out by same routewychwood12/06/2022

From the public car park in front of Inchmadamph Hotel via Conival and Ben More (Assynt) West Top returning by the same route. 10pm finish covering 12 miles in 12 hours with the last couple of miles along Glean Dubh taking about 3 hours. Thought it was tiredness but ended up injuring right Achilles and left knee resulting in 3 month lay off from any serious hills. On top of that the hotel owner came looking for us as a result of being reported to police for late return to campsite and if that was not enough we hit a deer on the journey back to camp.mntainman10/05/2021

Bagged with Conival (987m) from the Inchnadamph car park in the north west highlands. These are two hills that I had planned on getting multiple times, when I lived in Inverness, but there was always an excuse not to, so I’m very chuffed to have finally bagged them. In the wind shelter on Conival I met a very friendly 73 year old called Keith and we paired up for the rest of the day. 09:40hrs in total sunshine and blue skies till 5pm then overcast but dry.chillyman815/07/2019

Reached from the car park at Inchnadamph on an eleven mile walk first summiting Conival. Walk took around seven hours in wintery conditions (beware of the pink rock as this can be very slippery) and the path can be difficult to pick out at times, still a brilliant walk along the ridge in between the two tops.WAYNE ROWLETT24/12/2018
What a mountain and what a day!- the whole ridge and surrounding wilderness in sharp sunlight- a joy to be up here. Huge spectacular and unusual quartzite towers on ridge. HP was a central outcrop. Lingered over lunch before continuing to Conival.Denise 14/10/2018
Warm and sunny day - good visibility for much of the day. Nice walk from Inchnadamph - clear, dry and reasonably sunny. Good paths except the rough climb to the ridge.Capt Malbec14/10/2018

From Inchnadamph Lodge, the path is clear (even after it ends on the map) all the way over Conival and on to Ben More. Given that 5 hours of the 7 were in the fog, that's just as well. The walk along the river at the start and end was lovely. The climbing and descending in the fog was slippy and quite tough! However county top 17 complete.callumorr25/07/2016

Descended from Conival at 16.00 and set off for Ben Mor Assynt. Steep descent down the eroded loose scree path and then the undulating bouldery ridge. Reminded me of the Grey Corries and a bit of Cuillin. Long way out to summit and very steep pull up to summit. Bit precarious and very cautious descent on the return trip got a bit windy a this point. But was a long weary walk out to fish and chips that hotel kept aside for me cos I knew I would not be back befor the kitchen closed. Great day. Happy woman 😎munromurph03/07/2015

Inchadamph - Conival - Ben More Assynt - S Top - Corbett Top - Breabag - valley of Allt nan Uamh to car park where met family waiting. Breabag is not up to much to be quite frank! Still good, but not same quality as other hills in this area. Conival and Ben More Assynt are epic. The ridge to Munro Top is quite narrow and exposed. With a friend. After staying at Elphin outdoor centre. From Inchnadamph Hotel up Gleann Dubh. We climbed steep snow on to the ridge of Conival. We were in continuous softish snow thereafter until after the end of the south ridge of Ben More. We reached Conival and Ben More Assynt and went along the ridge to the south top. We continued over Carn nan Conbhairean and returned via Dubh Loch Mor and Gleann Dubh. Mist on the top of Conival cleared before we reached it. There was a short snowy shower just before Conival was reached. Thereafter the weather got better and better. It was warm, sunny and clear. There were superb views. South ridge of Ben More interesting in the snow conditions. A super trip.pwbellarby27/04/1986

Cairngorm Club Inchnadamph meet. With four members of the club. From Inchnadamph Hotel via Gleann Dubh to Conival. A way was found up the cliffs to the right of where River Traligill plunges over cliffs. We had lunch on the summit and went on to Ben More Assynt. Two members of the party returned the same way. Three of us continued along the ridge to the south summit, then Carn nan Conbhairean. The rope was used but it wasn't really necessary. The return was via Dubh Loch Mor. There was slight rain in the morning, but otherwise fine.pwbellarby10/07/1982
