Short day to beat incoming weather. Up standard route using the excellent stalkers path and then in thick cloud over open slopes to broad grassy summit. | benalder284 | 17/02/2024 |
After Meallan a'Chuail, from road to N up stalker's path with Greg during Shills meet. Windy but it improved, clag most of the time but a glimpse from the top, quite heavy rain some of the time. Very wet at end. | Rounsfell | 08/10/2023 |
From the North up excellent stalkers path that starts from the main road a mile or so west of Loch Merkland. Then up easy slopes to top. | Jossker | 06/05/2023 |
3rd of the day after Beinn Leoid and Meallan a'Chuail with CM and D.Dave. 10.5 miles and around 7.5 hours. Clear conditions and no rain! | bolton | 30/03/2023 |

Parked usual place, up stalkers path to stepping stones, cut up hill to summit. Promised inversion did not come this low! | iangalbraith | 18/12/2021 |
A day of cloud and drizzle. A good stalkers path to start then rough cross country most of way col the straightforward to Beinn Leoid and on to Meall an Chuill, took a poor line from there but ascent of Meall an Fheur Loch straightforward back to stalkers path and start. | dickscroop | 22/08/2020 |
Parked on grass/gravel area adjacent to passing place 100m or so east of stalklers track to north of hill room for 3 cars. As SMC book but went up NNE ridge of Meallan a' Chuail which looked the abvious route 5hours38 | rogreeves | 19/05/2019 |
Parked near the start of the excellent path on the A838. Straight up the path, then up the hill from 355320. | Owen B | 24/04/2019 |
Finally climbed this hill. Up the easy stalkers path, which has been bizarrely resurfaced with granite chippings, which form a pseudo scree slope in descent. Then easy strolling up grassy slopes to the fine summit plateau, with grand views. | Gill | 20/04/2019 |
Half way with Bob and Janice. Then a bog trot to the top. Greta views all round. Easy back tot eh track. | Play2End | 23/09/2018 |

First wait for two months of dry weather. Ascent is from nearby road via an excellent track. Easy to cut across from this across the bog and an excellent view in all directions awaits on the level top. To be highly recommended as a fine day out for less keen hill walkers | Oh no I forgot... | 19/07/2018 |
With M. Very easy ascent of Graham missed on previous ascent of Beinn Leoid. Later visited cafe in Tarbet. | douglas_easton | 19/06/2018 |
Using the astonishingly good hill path from 356333. then over easy terrain to summit. wonder what the sotry is with that path, someone has done a lot of work there.... | hils | 21/05/2018 |
Continued to Meallan a' Chuail & Beinn Leoid. After Beinn Leoid, I left the path at 34111/30482 to head across towards Lochan a' Chuail. | duchally | 19/05/2018 |
Rd of MFL, Chuail and Leoid from A837. Marked path is a well maintained stalkers' path on which I was overtaken by two stalkers with horses. I told them where I was going and they said stay on the ridges on the way in otherwise it was OK. Low morning cloud dispersed but ground remained wet after overnight rain. | Topographer57 | 28/09/2017 |
Solo. A Corbett & two Grahams. | Vin | 12/06/2017 |
Ascended and descended via fantastic path from A838 (marked on OS). This hill would make a nice circuit with Meallan a Chuail and Beinn Leoid. | raffemeister | 23/08/2016 |

With Martin66, J, JC, Otis & the Harts. J's first Graham. Used the stalkers path from the road for a cracking view from the summit. Then leaving the others headed down SW for the col. Otis galloped after me trying to herd me up with the others! Up to Meallan a'Chuail where the mist had drifted in. Dropped W to the col & then followed the path N for about 1km before following a fainter path across the moor to rejoin the earlier stalkers path. The others were already well settled in the pub! | NotReallyABagger | 02/09/2012 |
