5/5 With Pete. Warm day but overcast until late afternoon. From Beinn a' Chreachain. Descended back to the col at NN376447. Followed a rough path a short distance NW but lost it in the boggy ground of Coire an Lochain. Suspect it probably heads W to Lochan a' Chreachain, because regained it at NN368453 and followed it along Allt Coire an Lochain and under the railway. Cut across rough ground to cross the river and reach the track on the far side. Walked along this back to the car just off the A82 near Achallader Farm.millionmts03/08/2021

Had a cracking day, on the hills with Nicky Creadland bagging two Munros; Beinn Achaladair (1038m) and Beinn a’ Chreachain (1081m) and the two subsidiary Munro Tops. Accessed from Achallader Farm off the A82 just north of Bridge of Orchy, it started a bit misty and the midges were out in force, but they had fled and the sun had come out by the time we reached the south Top of Beinn Achaladair. The views down to Loch Tulla and across Rannoch Moor were stunning, we had a slight confusion on the summit of Beinn Achaladair, as the summit photo was taken at the cairn at 1036m, rather than the actually summit at 1038m, but as we had walked over the summit, we still bagged the Munro. While ascending Beinn a’ Chreachain the mist came in, which denied us a view, but since we had already been spoilt with the views, I’m not complaining, 09:15 hours all in.chillyman819/08/2020

Parked at Pubil (end of public road in Glen Lyon) and cycled track along N shore of Loch Lyon to the ford in Gleann Meurain (NN394426) (easily crossed in current dry weather). Then up Beinn Mhanach and traversed across to Beinn a'Chuirn. Retraced to col between the two, and roughly followed the old fence line down to Lon na Cailliche (col to Beinn Achaladair). Then more or less straight up to Achaladair S Top and along ridge to main summit. Continued along ridge, down to col with Beinn a'Chreachain, ascended Meall Buidhe, then Beinn a'Chreachain. Retraced from there and along to the 961m top, before descending grassy slopes back to track in Gleann Cailliche, and return to Pubil.kdbennett11/05/2017

On York Alpine Club New year week of excellent weather, with Simon and Carmen a long walk in by the river, made more interesting by crossing a river in spate but at the same time half frozen: Simon opted for the socks-off-boot-on wading option, the others went for the walk-half-a-mile-upstream to a crossing point manouevre. Then it was up through a delightful patch of Scots Pine forest, and on to the main ridge by way of a fine corrie. A short detour to the first summit (later discovered to be on the list of sub-Murdos) was followed by Beinn a' Chreachain, a fine traverse of the long wide ridge of Meall Buidhe, then over Beinn Rannoch Moor Achaladair to begin the descent, again just as the sun was setting. Interest was maintained by the frequent water ice on the paths down the glen, particularly tough going in the fading light.vegibagger30/12/2003

Hammered straight up corrie from east and over top on way to main summit on my own during an ambitious attempt (obsession?) to try link 24 marilyns in 24 hours. Petered out a lot later in the small hours after a substantial effort. Going well at this early stage and a beautiful lonely corrie.Chris Pearson01/06/2002
