Not many places to stop on the road. Started from track to ESE. Forest has been felled and replanted but not too bad to walk through. Headed W next to Kailrine Hill.sclater19/06/2022
Route as per Belfarm. Only a few yards of forest waste to traverse.hillsman02/06/2022
Circuit of Holehead, Dungoil and Gartcarron Hill from Crow RoadColin Crawford07/05/2021
ACW route. Along forest track, ascend Dungoil from the N thro thin clear fell. Descend E aiming for old forest ride and field to B822.Ascend easy ground thro fields to Gartcarron Hill. Descend across fields WNW back to start.bjewing24/03/2021
From locked gate on B822 Crow Road and by forestry track beneath Dungoil to edge of forest and up to Allanrowie East Top. Returned over Dungoil and on to Gartcarron Hill and GHET. A satisfying round but finding track to GHET was slightly problematic.lordtonult06/03/2021
From the west, awkward entry to the forest. Trees now felled all around the hill so exit eastwards was straightforward, through logging avenues and easy brashColin Crawford16/06/2020
Terrific wee hill, great views. Start at Gartcarron layby, as lower track has clear no parking notices. Ascend through gate up initially clear, latterly vague track/path, aim for highest located telegraph pole. You can see the thickest post to help hop the fence. Forestry all felled, little brash, easy runs between stumps. Not difficult, well worth the effort.Belfarm 22/03/2020
allanrowie east top and dungoil parked at locked gate off B822, good track for 3.5 km open ground to AET, back along track then small grass path to dungoil, steep descent to trees and track.robertphillips03/07/2018
Parked at the entrance to the Dungoil forest road. Walked up the road and path through grass anmd flowers to Dungoil's summit, then reversed the route, walked a little way up the Crow Road and across the bridge and through a gate to the summit of Gartcarron Hill. A badger shuffled nonchalantly across my path near the summit.Nick Down128/06/2018
Parked and ascended from track to the south east. No problem with the forest as, once inside, there is a wide ride leading to the east ridge.JohnW08/04/2017
From Gartcarron parking place. Rides through forest not very visible, but if you go just over the little ridge you can easily walk up the lines of mature trees where the forest is narrowest until you get to the clear ground. Very photogenic summit.Thearlaichdubh04/01/2017
From the same parking place as Gartcarron Hill on the Crow Road. Gate, then track uphill to timber shed. Then via knoll to forest edge. One or two branches to push past to enter the trees, then easy avoiding the windthrow by generally keeping left. Lots of wide spaces between the trees. I exited at highest point of treeline, SE of summit. Again a minor brush with branches on exiting. Note point for re-entry on descent. Lovely summit ridge and fine views in all directions. Descent same way.Minto01/01/2017
With Tom. Used the track and path up and down.chrisbien18/06/2016
From wide gate entrance 641850, good parking space. 100-200m afetr track reaches trees/gate nip through a sparse bit with no undergrowth or lower branches. Thereafter steep wee slog up. Rained from summit back, passable views.iangalbraith24/12/2015
From Crow Road followed the looping forestry track, small cairn marking the track (becoming overgrown)to the higher open hillside and the summit. Descent through forestry to east possible if a little difficult due to windthrowneimcv30/09/2015
Approached on track from NE which led into plantation on north side of hill. Short-cuts ruled out by chaotic windblown trees within the woods so gained open summit via (cairned) path from west.Lindsay M08/03/2015
From NE, via Dunbrach and Holehead with Fiona. Returned to find car had been broken into :-( Had previously abandoned this walk in a rage due to swarms of flies on forest road.agentmancuso24/02/1996
