Logged Descriptions  (logged by 50 users)ByDate of Ascent
No other cars at entrance ro Pairney, so easy parking. Path starts opposite the cattle barns. Clear path, relentlessly steep, thankfully short. Craig Rossie is a magnificent viewpoint, all along the highland line. Path goes on to Beld hill, then you can drop down to lower track. Ample evidence of cattle everywhere, but thankfully all still in those barns.hils15/04/2024
48th ascent.richtea504015/01/2024
From Pairney all the way to the high point of the track. From here ATV track to Beld Hill 365m, then ATV and single to Ben Effrey. Single to Craig Rossie and Trig. S on path to Beld Hill 412m. S past fence gate junction and up fire break between large and small conifers to Simpleside track. Up Simpleside Hill which is easy grass path from track. Back down track to The Slack where Banekist Burn was crossed just S of some deciduous trees at widening of track. East of craggs to ascend Rossie Law, easy but steep, could see straight through trees. Reversed route and out on track past Tarnavie. 2 field edges and back at Pairney.Lynnebe11/11/2023
Easiest from pairney start point. Also easy from tarnavie. Pairney, choice of ascents, nice path from N accessible either from the first barn on the track, or further up along the fence just past quarry. Do visit the Fort on that side! If continuing on track, Ben effrey is a must, and the Fort there. Good path from there to beld Hill N top, south top easy to access from there. If on the tarnavie track BTW, you can go S to a fence junction and a gate. If you enter the forest there, a path takes you down to the S side of the wee lochan on the simpleside track. There's also an excellent ATV track near where the marked firebreak is from the simpleside track up to the ridge just south of CR, starts just S of the big bend, noting that forestry has all been felled. No brash on that ATV track.Belfarm 27/01/2023

Up a pleasant path from Pairney, return via Beld Hill. Great views.fasgadh01/06/2022
The forest has been felled, so if coming up via the forest track you'll be faced with a mountain of brash. I found a route up from the path bend at approx NN 991 120 which follows a burn and avoids the worst of it.kathyh18/04/2021

Circuit of Craig Rossie, Ben Effrey, Beld Hill, Simpleside Hill & Rossie Law, from Pairney Farm.TRG31804/03/2020
4 tump round craig rossie, beld hill both tops, rossie law, thornley hill, from parking in layby 400m west of the farm, track past farm straight after the quarry through gate and up small path next to fence to top of CR, along fence to BH, left Bh south top and went south straight down through mature well spaced out trees near small pond next to track, down track to the slack, small section of trees to top of RL,returned to track and along minor road to farm used gate opp for TH.robertphillips23/01/2019
There is room for limited parking at the start of the farm track just east of Pairney - otherwise there is a layby just to the west of the farm. A pleasant walk along track and then by path up Ben Effrey. Easy walking via Beld Hill to the summit. Descended north east by path.JohnW01/06/2018
From Pairney by path to summit, then Beld Hill and Rossie Law.NormanW26/11/2017
Path/track from Pairney to fence. Gate at right angle bend in fence. Path to top of Craig Rossie then mostly along fence to both tops of Beld Hill and back.chrisbien06/05/2017
From Beld Hill, easily along fence line. Onwards to Rossie Law, via Green Hill. Descent slightly S of E to forest track through mature trees. Quite dark nut minimal foliage to deal with, apart for entering and leaving the forest.Minto05/12/2016
As per walkhighlands route from the farm. Straight up and same route back. Great clear day with excellent views. Steep in parts. Slightly over a mile to the summit. Could be tricky when wet underfoot.Stevend121/08/2016
From Beld Hill. Then followed the fence line north back to the B road. Very hard going with the bracken so high!Play2End29/07/2016
From north, direct route underneath crags to col and approach to summit. Very rough ground with scree and soft, mossy heather. Returned via Beld Hill and a narrow firebreak down from 987118 to track at 991119.Topographer5716/12/2014
