Ben More via A' Chioch and Beinn Fhada with John - parked at Dhiseig and walked along the road to the start - clag and 45mph gusts above 600m made some of the route a bit dicey - especially the scrambling section between A' Chioch and Ben More (simple scrambling but not when the wind is trying to push you off the hill). 6h 18min for the full round.mproudfoot16/04/2022

Leader, walking with 19yr old daughter Ascent of Ben More from sea level via Gleann na Beinne Fada, A'Chioch and the NW ridge that required some scrambling, returning on direct path to Loch na Keal shore. A fantastic mountain day. Weather was fine and dry, summit in cloud during ascent but cleared when topping. Excellent long range views. Day was chosen as a ridge of high pressure was passing between 2 cold fronts in what was otherwise a very wet period. Many marked and unmarked streams were fast flowing requiring multiple crossings plus two significant wider crossings, care required. Wind approx 30mph on summit, presented no real problem on the ridge due to direction.higlett15/08/2019

Then off end of ridge and down to road, tricky in woods at bottom. Back along road to car (18:30). Some cloud earlier, but fine day with long views.dbb02/05/2019

Solo. From Knock. Up track on SW side of Loch Ba and up Glen Clachaig, initially on track and then path to col with spot height 332m. Left path and up ridge through boulders and scree to summit of A'Chioch. Route does not seem much used. I went SW to Ben More with a path and more or less well defined route with some scrambling. Down NW on standard Ben More route to road, taking a cut off low down to take me near Knock. Road blocked by damaged bridges which is one reason for my route choice.pwbellarby13/07/2012

On A8035- Beinn Fhada- A'Chioch- Ben More- A8035 walk. I had been looking forward to doing Ben More this way for years. The ridge after A'Chioch, narrow and rocky in places, was never any more than G1 scrambling but very impressive. The entire mountainside is sculpted out of Tertiary basalt. The way down back to the B8035 was simply over broad slopes but delights were the views, then seeing Golden Ringed Dragonflies. Even walking back on the B road we were treated to a lengthy views of otters in the sea. So often we had seen Ben More with a cap of cloud when every other mountain was clear but we'd had clear views all day. One of the best. With brother, Pete.pwheeler05/06/2002

Snow down to sea level and fierce N winds forecast. Fled Glen Nevis and drove in my Hillman Avenger (my first car) with John H to climb Ben More -My 100th Munro.Ferry crossing overshadowed by the Zebrugge disaster 2 weeks earlier. Battering snow squalls as we ascended rough snow, rock and icy N slopes to trig in cloud - Johns camera frozen -unable to capture my ice crystal coated duvet jacket.Camped hard up against chapel wall on coast for shelter from N wind and next morning collected dripping snow melt from roof outside our tent door for our water supply.Chris Pearson19/03/1987
