From New Radnor ( parking outside old pub). Mainly RoW. Lovely sunny frost morning. Domed sheep pasture, no feature but near trig. Continuing to Castle Hill.Denise 01/12/2023
From the N on tracks zig zagging up through Snatcher Wood and out onto fields of sheep pasture. Several BWF’s to cross but no stiles. Undulating cultivated sheep pasture summit. High point marked by a few tiny pieces of rock. Cloudless skies, bright sunshine, hint of a NE breeze. Frosted ground. Fine views. Trig pillar on lower ground.RichardM01/12/2023
Parked in the car park by the school in New Radnor, as it was the school holidays. Knowle Hill, Whimble, Bache Hill, Black Mixen, Great Rhos, Nyth-grug, Mynd and The Smatcher (no sign of the fp approaching from the W, so followed the fence boundary and cut up to the trig). Warm but overcast with a breeze on top. With Gillianrichard6907/08/2023
Parked in the forestry car park. Up through fields adjacent to wood.Campbell Singer15/04/2023

Up lane and across fields from New Radnor.rhalstead10/02/2018
A fine circuit with 5 trigs, on a perfect sunny day. Beginning to be converted to TuMPing by Alex and co, and regaining proficiency in climbing barbed wire fences. From New Radnor, over the superb Whimble, Bache Hill, direct to Black Mixen (noooo - follow the track), edge of forest and peaty tracks to Great Rhos, then seduced away from the indistinct correct line to the forestry by Nuttall baggers track, but correct line regained off piste. Through forest, then up to Nyth Grug, Mynd, Black Brook track to A44, direttissima towards Molecatchers Wood, Castle Hill, and The Smatcher.Gill26/03/2017
Drove up the very steep and rough road from the A44 to park at 219599 then walked south to the path west which leads to the trig. The summit is a few yards WNW of the trig.clivevilla27/02/2016

Up from A44 on a steep narrow lane to Smatcher Cottage. Bridal path sign pointed up on the crest of the ridge, through a gate and up to column 7729 at 13.15. New Radnor below.arranc30/08/2012
Had to do this one after the main Radnor three because of its name and to bag the trig.DanTrig04/06/2011
