Followed excellent Fforest Fawr Geopark leaflet from Abercraf. Combined with lunch at the inn and a walk up the impressive Llech gorge to the might Henrhyd Falls.Rob Rees08/10/2019
The geological Cribarth Disturbance has produced a tight anticline in the limestone rocks forming the summit ridge, which has also been heavily quarried. The intense folding and jumble of rock faces and outcrops has seen it used by generations of geology students for mapping practice. ( probably explained presence of a large old tent for shelter near summit). With L on a 4 hr walk from cottage initially down Nant Lech gorge again. Close by lies Dan y Ogof caves where the first explorers went armed with a revolver unsure of what they would find! Wonder if they shot at their own shadows? Traversed the hill down to Craig y Nos castle ( hotel) where a very scary Dr Who was filmed ( which we watched later and certailnly put us off ever wanting to stay there!) Stepping stones across River Tawe ended up losing path in horse pasture - let out by testy lady through stable yard.Chris Pearson06/08/2018
Final of 6 hills on a 14-mile round from Glyntawe. Visited 426m spot height by error and by chance decided this looked higher and came across before descending to Glyntawe. Fine little craggy escarpment.jonglew31/03/2017
