Parked near Scarney Hill and walked along easy path to Botany, stile in left hand side of wall to access Trig, wonderful viewsmatty1971b21/01/2023
With Sue from Mickleton railway CP to Grassholme reservoir, closed path due to works, back to road and N crossed fields to top. Returnedvia Swarthy mere to railway path. Wet and cloudy.Frank31/05/2022
From Middleton in Teesdale; first ascent up Harter Fell via Pennine Way and onto Grassholme Reservoir. Ascent along indistinct footpath and bushwhacking through heather.paulcook280928/08/2021
Followed vehicle track off the roadside, and then headed to the wall corner to the stile. A short walk from there to tops and trig.Moorponder26/09/2020
Nice little jaunt after earlier swamp bashing. Included trig.Wycombe Wanderer10/09/2020
It's an easy walk from the road summit if you know about the wall stile and, as others have noted, the trig looks higher from every angle but measurement says not. A nice spot in the late afternoon sun.milimana09/09/2020
Sign saying Unsuitable for Motor Vehicles is not telling the truth. Stile is well camouflaged in the wall corner but very useful. Trig point looks higher but isn’t.Campbell Singer07/08/2020
How Top - Scarset Rigg - Millstone Grits from Nettlepot. Short walk from the road to the west, found the stile on the wall cornerGary Heath26/07/2020
With Jo, parked by Botany and then followed track over Harker Hill onto Millstone Grits and Romaldkirk Moor trig. Weather; cloudy with light breeze, warm, good visibility.amblerbob19/07/2020

With Coel and Alfie. Visited trig.Dangerous Dave07/01/2019
From car park at the western end of Grassholme Reservoir.briandavies10/11/2018
From road summit to WSW. There is an unobvious stile at the 90 deg corner in the wall en route to the summitjimbloomer29/06/2018
What better way to celebrate one’s 50th birthday than a day off work and a 13 mile run taking in a Durham hill and trigpoint? Ran from Mickleton and approached from the road to the W. Nice views even on a cloudy daymadaddo07/11/2017
Parked at NY 95170 21540. Followed very vague path allong wall to stile at wall corner NY 95428 21660. Low pile of stones at hill top. Walked over to trig and back to car via same route.John Lee14/10/2017
From SW, visiting the trig and sourrounding rocks as well as the true summit a short distance to NW.RobertP07/02/2016
Walked from home.Bheinn04/02/2016
As others an easy route from the minor road to the west.Fisky Boy07/05/2015

Parked on minor road to West. As mentioned before trig looks significantly higher than summit, but just an optical illusion - checked out and trig shows 1 metre lower.Crib Goch25/03/2015
Park on the grassed area just north of the wall, alongside the first (false) summit. This gives access to a path which crosses the wall at a stile and avoids climbing an unstable wall.moorsman20/09/2014
Trig point appears to be higher than 410 metre contour to it's North by a significant margin.maknipe17/01/2014
As David G. Top now has small cairn, crossed to trig S4324. Excellent views to Higher Pennines (with snow above 500m) and down Teesdale.nordicstar14/01/2014
From minor road parking at NY 9517.2154 near large pile of rocks. Aim for wall 70m away which has stile, go through this and follow wall, this avoids any climbing. Cairn on rise where heather and burnt heather meet. Trig not far away on another bump.Aye Jimmy27/08/2013
Parked on Grass verge beside minor road to SW at NY 95278 21334 (385m) Followed wall to trig (cross wall needs climbing) then NW to centre of 510m contour ring at NY 95544 21759. At this point we felt some loose stones under our feet hidden from view by heather. Presuming stones were once a visible cairn. From summit the trig can be seen perched on a prominent knoll and looks higher but not so with Abney Level.David Gradwell28/07/2013
Lovely Fri evening after work nr York. From road to west after a much longer ascent partly up Pennine Way from N of Kirton fell a sub 4 which is on my original list as @p24m but has failed to make it on to official sub 4 list as not 490-499mChris Pearson10/06/2012
