As Anton. Had to be-pass deep pit to get to summit. | peter4lc | 09/06/2023 |
2/3 Tumps. 2.	Nab Hill from the road to the north close to the mast. Walked along the leat, then back along the track on the edge of the escarpment. Across to the trig, then west to the high point. Back down the road and the leat. 8km with 220m ascent taking 2h 30m. | silveracorn_alan | 26/12/2022 |
Parked as per others, bit of a mess, but nice trig point with nice peoms. 15 mins | Nicky C | 13/10/2021 |
Walked from Harden. Snowy. | HardenC | 23/01/2021 |
Easy parking against fence, 70m SE of blue barrier & boulders across start of track at SE 0328 3227 - Around barrier & boulders & NNE along track for about 60m to left hand bend & a pile of rubbish - Turned right & up banking to unmarked summit. Lumpy terrain is popular with young motorbikers. | gerrybowes | 09/11/2020 |
For shortest and easiest distance to top, park on Cold Edge Road at the end of the track by height barrier and large stone barrier GR SE032323, follow track to where it bends round to left, bear right here to top.
Grassy rise WSW of fence post, the fence guards against drop into old quarry workings. I made this location 1 metre higher than natural ground at Trig. | Anton | 26/03/2020 |

A bloody mess. I think I prefer Whinney Hill. | Wycombe Wanderer | 16/01/2020 |
Circular from Ogden Water | MountainTerrier | 30/10/2019 |
Parked on minor road to the South SE 03414 32070 in largish parking although plenty of room to the North closer to the summit. | David Evans | 12/05/2019 |
Parked at Ogden water had a steady 5.5 mile jog/walk up to well preserved summit trig then followed wind turbines back down to road and across golf course. 1h 20mins return | The-Z-Man | 26/09/2018 |
Easy from W. Visited summit but not trig. | RobertP | 13/05/2018 |
Up through muddy quarry- couldn't see much in clag | Mark Sims | 20/12/2017 |
A weird moonscape. Easy walk up from road over bwf. Very Pennine in nature. | Campbell Singer | 08/11/2017 |
From road to west, first to trig point and then back to HP, avoiding the quarry. | PeterD | 05/09/2017 |
Through Halifax and up out NW fortunately the road does go right through to Haworth.
White trig almost invisible initially against the evening sky. | vegibagger | 26/06/2017 |
as for the adam | arranc | 04/04/2017 |
1st of just two hills today. Train from Nottingham to Leeds, train to Keighley and 500 bus to Oxenhope. Took Millenium way SE, then onto Isle Lane onto Nab Water Lane up past Nab Scar to trig first then loop round quarry to grassy rise. Walked around quarry and descended to Nab Water lane, took fp then back onto minor lane now the Millenium way then fp NE back into Oxenhope, finishing at the station. | Dazingdale | 18/03/2017 |
After doing Soil Hill, walked up to this one from Ogden Res. | IanHHill | 22/02/2017 |
Very windy, visited as Storm Barbara was coming in, the wind turbines had all been shut down in preparation. Nice trig complete with tribute poem to Robert Robinson, went to other potential high points too | the_adam | 23/12/2016 |
4/5 Fourth of warm, sunny day in Yorkshire (Burnhope Seat/Burnhope Seat (trig Point)/Harwood Common/Nab Hill/Soil Hill) | Fergalh | 05/06/2016 |
Beautiful day. | Igor Mincenko | 19/04/2016 |
Up from fp to north west. Back straight to road over bw fence. Found the whole area very depressing. More turbines going up. Last Bradford hill. Trig. visited. | ngthack | 11/11/2015 |
Small parking area near to the boundary fence. This gives access in almost a straight line to the summit. If you park by the quarry gate, do not use this track as it traverses the quarry and is thick gooey sludge all the way | moorsman | 24/10/2015 |
Up from minor road nearby.Very dry underfoot.Good views today,including all Three Peaks,I believe.With Catman. | rosiebridge | 26/04/2015 |
With Bridget. | catman | 26/04/2015 |
With Jo, from Ogden Reservoir: b/w to Cold Edge, then through quarry and over fence onto Nab Hill. Returning via Hollin Hill trig and Hambleton Lane and Back Lane. Weather; low cloud, mild, very poor visibility. | amblerbob | 15/02/2015 |
Climbed old fence, rather than new barrier across old quarry track | GordonAdshead | 15/11/2014 |
Parked on the Cold Edge Road then went to the high point identified by David Gradwell for this TUMP before visiting the trig point on a bright October morning. | Dugswell2 | 05/10/2014 |
Second visit to try and determine true summit. Parked on layby on minor road to west at SE 03417 32080. Visited trig by first following quarry track then over fence where it has been flattened. (Quarry still being worked so Sunday visit recommended.) From trig pillar higher ground evident to west with Abney. Highest point is end of natural grassy ridge 9m WSW of last fence post at SE 03375 32376 (c300m W of trig). This point is within a few metres of 451m spot height on 10k geograph. Looking back at the trig you would swear it was higher but two different Abney Levels proved otherwise. Two nearby small 450m contour rings are also lower. | David Gradwell | 15/06/2014 |
Short walk from minor road to east. Approached from Oxenhope but can be done from Halifax as well - road is continuous though not shown as metalled road on map. | citygent | 07/11/2013 |
did with Soil Hill from Ogden Water. overcast, dry. | joseph mitchell | 25/09/2013 |
Night time ascent from road to west. all very eriee -ups and downs of old quarry and blades of wind turbines.Went to trig as well. | Chris Pearson | 02/09/2011 |
A circular from Ogden Water | MountainTerrier | 20/04/2011 |
Was on a creative writing exercise so I had a sneaky dash over the moor to visit the top. Wind turbines not a problem, much better than the nasty coal power stations out to the east. | Jake994 | 02/04/2011 |
Run with Pete | richardsun | 27/02/2011 |
Pleasant 5 mile circular walk from car park at Ogden Water at SE 06615 30940. | David Gradwell | 16/02/2008 |
Trig revisit, plaque to Robert Robinson. Compact cairned summit with quarrying within 100m to W. Cold bleak drizzly early a.m., quick bag from S. Quarry track covered in deep slurry, avoided it on descent. | RHW | 09/12/2007 |
Short walk from road to W through quarries to trigpoint, which is better than the summit. | Aye Jimmy | 10/05/2007 |
Hebden Bridge to Oxenhope via Lumb Falls-High Brown Knoll-Midgley Moor-Hollin Hill-Ovenden Moor-Thornton Moor-Leeming Reservoir | Mac.Hawk | 12/06/2005 |
Pleasant summit somewhat spoiled by dis quarry wkings & wind generators. park 033322, thru dis quarry to summit | RHW | 03/02/2002 |
From Oxenhope. Over Ovenden Moor. Used Calderdale Way and Bronte Way. Very cold. Kept sinking in snow. | ChrisR | 04/01/1997 |
