A lovely day on the hills with my 67 year old Dad from the official car park near Murrisk on the R335,Seven and half mile in Four and half hours. (The toilets on the mountain are not in operation at present so use the ones in the car park before setting off)WAYNE ROWLETT14/09/2023
From large carpark in Murrisk €3 pay and display. Obvious stony path to summit and returned same way all in sheeting rain, low cloud and gusty winds . Surprisingly busy. Locked chapel with defibrillator on summit plateau, also cairn. Apparently St Patrick spent Lent here in the early 5 th century. Avoid pilgrimage days!Denise 27/06/2023
Climbed CP from murrisk carpark. Climb withCharlie eventDanny Devlin02/04/2022
By the standard route on the heavily eroded 'path' from Murrisk. Very windy, with cloud mostly capping the summit. With BC, DB and RP. Returned by outward route to the col, then onwards to Taobh na Cruaiche 487m.Man of Kernow107/10/2019

I first tried this on 18/04/2018 but the wind was so strong that I couldn't stand up when I reached the col. It even blew my glasses off and I lost them. 4 days later the wind was gentler and it was no problem. Up in 2 hours, down in 1hr 20min.IanHHill22/04/2018
Beautiful day! Saw a member of west life climbing, on our way down!Team GB01/04/2018
This has to be one of the busiest mountains I have climbed the amount of people going up & down. Fabulous views of Clew Bay this has to be one of the views I have had from a the top of a mountain.philhythe06/08/2017
Clear blue sky and not a breath of wind. Our first hillclimb together. Joan and Nicholas forever. It was the most magical experience and the view from the chapel was simply breathtaking. Wobbly-knees on the way down but a refeshing glass of Guinness at Campbells at the Reek was restorative.Nick&Joan26/03/2017
Up the tourist route in cold clear conditions. A tiny amount of snow.Gill24/12/2014

Climbed with Roisin on the way from Achill to Galway.GravelMonkey09/04/2014
With all those people, followed the tourist route. Fair play to the folks who usually don't climb because they seemed to just be getting on with it and enjoying themselves.nickywood107/05/2011

Started the day out on Clare Island. The view over Clew Bay from the top of Croagh Patrick is still one of the best I've ever seen.Alex C03/06/2010

Approximate date...as far as I remember, this is the first mountain that I summited! I was about 10 yrs old and on a family holiday to Westport house. It was a real adventure to summit the Reek with my family and the memory looms large in my childhood reverie! It instilled a real reverence and respect for mountains and perhaps helped to ignite my passion for adventure!Gerry the Ranger11/07/1987
