Parked at croesor, circular walk. Ascent to cnicht, followed path to edge of llyn yr Adar, took a south towards the quarry, ascent to moelwyn mawr, decent down craigysgfan, then west down valley to road.noxibis17/11/2018
This was a great walk. Not sunny but dry and cloud was generally quite high. Great view of Porthmadog and other tops. Loved the ruined quarry landscapes. Hard to comprehend how huge these quarries were and how many people they employ unless you actually go there and walk round. Started in Tanygrisia and up to Rhosydd Quarry, Moel-yrHydd, past the huge 'twll', North Ridge Top, Moelwyn Mawr,Craigysgafn, Moelwyn Bach, down to Croesor village, Cnicht, North Top and then back to the quarry via the col and down to Tanygrisia.tsharp10/09/2018

In a contrived circuit from near Blaenau Ffestiniog. Craigysgafna is the gem and unexpected too. Later on, it is more of a slog but the slate quarries provide interest.SS02/10/2010

Start ~ 631446, Croesor Car park. Nice circuit, ascended SW ridge on to Cnicht then Cnicht N Top and on to near Llyn yr Adar before turning south along the route of a RoW to the quarry building at the head of Cwm Croesor. Then followed quarry tracks up on to Moelwyn Mawr and eventually found Moelwyn Mawr N Ridge Top. Not the most prominent hill! Made a direct descent to the quarry track below in Cwm Croesor and followed it back to start. With Ron Oakley.steve hudson22/06/2004

The Cnicht horseshoe from Croeser. A return around the lovely lumpy Moelwyns to add two new Nuttalls which in retrospect was not needed as I had done Cnicht N top before and Molwyn Mawr North ridge top subsequently demoted as a Nuttall. Non the less lovely outing up Cnicht by s ridge in 48mins. Army heliopter doing an exercise with flares. 2hrs 15 round trip. Day off work after working JG pre-exp w/e.Chris Pearson04/09/2000
