Llanberis-Llechog-Snowdon-Lliwedd(3 tops)-Gallt y Wenallt-Pen y Pass.Getting down to Pen y Pass meant either an awkward pathless descent (which I didn't fancy) or a steep climb back up the ridge to rejoin the path coming down from Lliwedd (which was hard work at the end of a long day).Missed the last bus and had to get a taxi back to Llanberis(£15)andy6315/05/2019

From Nant Gwynant. Started up the Watkin path, then crossed the bridge and took the excellent former tramway up to the old copper mine. From there, followed a faint trail which led directly to the summit. Carried on over Y Lliwedd rejoining the Watkin path for the last climb up Snowden. Descent via Allt Maenderyn.crax7308/05/2017
with Frank on a wet but clammy day, parked at the bottom of the permitted path to Pen y Pass and used the route up to LLiwedd.Lou21/08/2016

Super extended horseshoe route- it's been ten years since I last did it and I'd forgotten how much fun it is, especially Crib Goch. Route from Pen-y-Pass: Crib goch, Crib y Ddysgl, Yr Wyddfa, Y Lliwedd, Y Liwedd East Top, Lliwedd Bach & Gallt Y Wenallt, then a yomp back across the valley to pick up the Miners' path near the car park. And all on a four hour parking fee...though I was a bit late getting back...Cas-gwent24/05/2016
Craig Fach,Crib Goch, Crib y Ddysgl, Snowden. Dropped steeply to SE off summit to keep to edge/ridge and some good scrambling over the 3 Lliwedd`s then out & back to Gallt y Wenallt. Superb sunshine with cooling breeze all day.mart079714/05/2016
Bit of a relief to walk on grass again; left Steve at the path junction, and didn't see anyone till the pipeline. Long, laborious descent in hot sun.agentmancuso15/07/2015

From Lliwedd Bach. Followed a rough track up on to Gallt Y Wennalt, before descending via the old mine path to rejoin the Watkin Path. Good visibility but some map and compass work required!!HilboBlogging21/11/2013
A GLORIOUS SUNNY AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY SUNDAY SO WENT FOR THE SNOWDON HORSESHOE WITH JOYCE AND 2 FRIENDS FROM FRANCE, OMITTING CRIB GOCH AS THEY DON'T LIKE HEIGHTS. TROUBLE PARKING AND LATER HEARD THERE WERE 10,000 PEOPLE ON SNOWDON OVER THAT WEEKEND. UP PYG TRACK AND ONTO CRIB Y DDYSGL, THEN SNOWDON SUMMIT AND DOWN WATKIN PATH TO BWLCH AND OUT OVER Y LLIWEDD, Y LLIWEDD E. TOP AND LLIWEDD BACH. WENT OUT ON MY OWN TO GET GALLT YR WENALLT AND RETRACED STEPS TO FINISH DOWN NORMAL ROUTE. OTHERS MEANWHILE FETCHED CAR UP TO PEN-Y-PASS. A GREAT DAY OUTBURGESS25/08/2013
Did this as the full Snowdon horseshoe per the Nuttalls walk. Oh the pleasure of walking on grass after all the previous hills rock scrambles. Followed the north ridge down and over the pipe at a crossing point. There is a faint path. A bit of a slog to the Miner's track. Should have gone over the hillock to the right of a ruined cottage.johnjennison17/07/2013
Pen-y-pass car park (£10!!) – Bwlch y Moch – Crib Goch – Crib y Ddysgl – Snowdon – Y Lliwedd – Y Lliwedd East Peak – Lliwedd Bach – Gallt y Wenallt – Down NE ridge for a bit – N. down steep slopes – Under pipeline – Miners’ Track – Pen-y-pass. (JL)gerrybowes06/06/2013
From Nantgwynant up the Watkins path and then out a very impressive mine road followed by an easy walk to Gallt y Wenallt. From there it was up and over Y Lliwedd then back down the Watkins path. Great views down into the corrie below.SS01/06/2013
Tagged on the end of the horseshoe. Good walk in poor visibilityHillboBaggings20/05/2013
From Pen y Pas Miners Track toward Lliwedd then down to summit and steep drop north back to start. Hail and bluster.Hammy17/10/2012
Nant Gwynant-Watkins Path to waterfalls-right up and across the hills to the coppermine below Y Lliwedd-across boggy areas to the summit using gps. great day out with Emil and Phoebe adding to their mountain tally. Fantastic views, also watched the sea-king flyng around probably in honour of the paralympic torch going up Snowdon.Taz3822/08/2012
I came over from Y Llwedd along the bumpy grassy ridge that made quite a change to the stony peaks of earlier. Steep decent on grassy sloped into the damp cwm Dy vally north. Even walked on top of pipeline for a while to avoid the boggy conditions underfoot.Father Ted15/07/2012

Same as Andrew and David - the miners' track which traverses the southern flanks of Lliwedd is a real help when getting to this top from Nant GwynantMark Jackson25/03/2012
