Super walking from Foel Hafod-fynydd. Lay down awhile at the summit; only the buzzing of flies and distant motorbikes disturbing the tranquility. On to Pen-aran.Wycombe Wanderer09/10/2023

Aran range N-S. Beautiful day and an extremely picturesque range, the peace and calm only broken occasionally by the thunder of jets swooping over to perform aerobatics in close proximity.Barns15014/03/2022
Wet and foggy day to start. Climbed up here and walked the Aran Ridge. rescued 6 dogs on top which stopped me getting right to the top of the main mountain - got within 5m and the only reason I didn't make it to touch the cairn was trying to keep the pack togetherdavert12324/10/2021

Nuttall's routes 8.1 and 8.3 combined plus a few extras - Pen-aran (at the end of the main ridge - a Bridge), Pen y Byn-fforchog North Top (a Bridge) and Y Gribin (a simm). 12 peaks - 29.93km - 5500 feet - took just under eleven hours (the GPS reckoned three hours were spent sitting on my backside!). Lovely sunny day until I got to Pen y Byn fforchog when the cloud descended and it began drizzling. Route through the forest was horrible.Herbert Anchovy31/07/2020

Llanuwchllyn to Aran Fawddwy wildcamp. A long, slow plod up the north ridge on a hot afternoon, it was a relief to finally get on the tops and in a nice breeze. An excellent mountain with lots to explore on the top and impressive cliffs.Jake99415/08/2016

Climbed from Llanuwchllyn to Aran Fawddwy along ridge path, returning by same route and bagging Pen-Aran, Aran Benllyn and Erw y Ddafad-ddu along the way (5.5 hours). Superb cloudless warm late Spring day. Dry underfoot, though path looks like it could be boggy at times. Views stretching from Carneddau to Brecon Beacons, and from Lleyn Peninsula to the Shropshire Hills. Superb rugged mountain ridge - similar to Cader Idris minus the crowds. Despite being a Bank Holiday, saw nobody until I reached summit of Aran Fawddwy at 1.15pm!jamessteel10030/05/2016
From Bala lake along the ridge to Aran Fawddwy and back, good weather, super views.Taz3802/09/2015
