From Aran Benllyn. Lovely walking. Chatted to a couple from Corwen, over for the day. And bumped into them this evening at dinner at the Plas yn Dre hotel, Bala. Much easier descent than expected via Moel Ffenigl and Tal-t-braich and enjoyed the very warm and sunny pastoral walking from Cae-poeth back to start. 19.3km, 973m, 5:07. | Wycombe Wanderer | 09/10/2023 |

All the way up the North ridge from the camp site at Llanuwchlyn. | Minto | 24/05/2022 |
Aran range N-S. Beautiful day and an extremely picturesque range, the peace and calm only broken occasionally by the thunder of jets swooping over to perform aerobatics in close proximity. | Barns150 | 14/03/2022 |
Wet and foggy day to start. Climbed up here and walked the Aran Ridge. rescued 6 dogs on top which stopped me getting right to the top of the main mountain - got within 5m and the only reason I didn't make it to touch the cairn was trying to keep the pack together | davert123 | 24/10/2021 |

Nuttall's routes 8.1 and 8.3 combined plus a few extras - Pen-aran (at the end of the main ridge - a Bridge), Pen y Byn-fforchog North Top (a Bridge) and Y Gribin (a simm). 12 peaks - 29.93km - 5500 feet - took just under eleven hours (the GPS reckoned three hours were spent sitting on my backside!). Lovely sunny day until I got to Pen y Byn fforchog when the cloud descended and it began drizzling. Route through the forest was horrible. | Herbert Anchovy | 31/07/2020 |
Cloud, wind and occasional hail showers were my only companions on this ridge. Company: Solo | iandesbottes | 15/03/2020 |

Went to the summits of Pen-aran, Aran Benllyn and Erw y Ddafad-ddu on way up. Back same way but not going to summits of various tops. Mostly dry but rain towards the end. | pwbellarby | 20/08/2019 |

Climbed from Llanuwchllyn to Aran Fawddwy along ridge path, returning by same route and bagging Pen-Aran, Aran Benllyn and Erw y Ddafad-ddu along the way (5.5 hours). Superb cloudless warm late Spring day. Dry underfoot, though path looks like it could be boggy at times. Views stretching from Carneddau to Brecon Beacons, and from Lleyn Peninsula to the Shropshire Hills. Superb rugged mountain ridge - similar to Cader Idris minus the crowds. Despite being a Bank Holiday, saw nobody until I reached summit of Aran Fawddwy at 1.15pm! | jamessteel100 | 30/05/2016 |
From the car park at in Llanuwchllyn. Took the Crib Yr Aran path through the metal gate. A very pleasant and straightforward walk and climb of three and a half hours return to 'do' the Bridge that was missed first time round. Solo. | bolton | 13/10/2015 |

With Minnie. There & back ridge walk from small parking area Llanuwchllyn, long but rewarding, taking in all the high points made it harder going on the way up. fortunatley warm & dry for the ascent, then heavy rain for 2 hrs coming down- at least the wind was at our backs. | apricorum | 10/06/2014 |
2nd summit of the Day on a North to South traverse of the Arans finishing on the A470 (where I was picked up by my guest house host from Dolgellau. Conditions clouding over and now navigating in thick mist. Fortunately every stile has the Grid reference on them. This was just a small deviation from the Main Aran ridge path. | Dazingdale | 07/05/2014 |

An out and back from Pont-y-Pandy with Mary. Over Pen-aran to Aran Benllyn then Erw y Ddafad-ddu to Aran Fawddwy. Great walk highly recommended but do it on a day that can guarantee views. | Glenelg | 08/08/2010 |
