Having drove down to Becs Dads Caravan in Talybont the Friday night we di this walk on the Saturday. Our 1st mistake was not having change for the car park so we drove to a petrol station to get some only to see when it was light the car park took cards lol. We set off through the woods up the very steep Minffordd path. Tough going from the start but we made it onto open fell plodding on to the tarn Llyn Cau. After a short sandwich break by the water we started to climb again and this time into the bad weather. When on the ridge the cloud dropped and freezing wind picked up all the way to the top. it was so hard and Bec was really struggling. We made it to the top and went for a break in the shelter from the horrendous weather. The way back we retraced our steps as we couldn’t see anything and even though longer was probably safer. Back at the car battered and bec bruised we went back to the caravan had a pint in the last inn and played game shows all night. Brilliant day. And saw TryfScotty 2 Hotty22/01/2022

Completed the Cadair Idris horseshoe on a nice day (at the bottom.) However, low cloud on the summit meant we saw no views at all until we got further round the horseshoe and past Mynydd MoelDawnY2405/09/2020
Poor conditions, gale force winds, bad visibility and very wet. Started off in Dôl Idris Car Park and followed the Minffordd Path (taking the right fork across the Nant Cadair) followed the path which was easy enough to follow, though steep and loose in places to Mynydd Moel, followed the path round to Cadair Idris before rejoining the Minffordd Path, slow going on the descent and not the easiest path to follow (and quite trecherous in the rain due to loose scree) from the summit but eventually found it and followed down to Craig Cwn Amarch and then Craig Lwyd. Steps in the wet were very polished but eventually got back to the car park in one piece.lboutside23/08/2020
