As Julie says. People who own the farm and cottages were endlessly helpful with directions.iangalbraith12/08/2023
From road to North.davechaffey28/05/2023
Parked on the corner of the access road to the camp site and cottages (plenty space) at 204936. Followed the public right of way, through the cottages, through a gate into a field, through another gate into the woods. At a junction in the woods ROW turns south, go through gate diagonally up hill. Up to top left of field through another gate, then another gate then another gate and up to summit. This route avoids any bwf crossings. On the way down tried to take a higher track down through the wood, ended up with 1 bwf crossing at a corner next to the wood where the barbed wire had actually been cut. Ended up in 1st field from way out. 1.8 mile circuit. Easiest way is to follow up the way we went through all the gates. and come back the same way.JulieB16/10/2022
From the north. 2 gates 1 bwf easiest next to tree. Field with hp is now harvested. Good views.Nick Canute23/08/2022
Large passing place by gate to the north allows safe parking. Over gate and field edges with no problems. One barbed wire fence to cross by a tree about 30m from the high point. Summit in crop field. Solo.Dangerous Dave28/05/2022
As per Isjborn below. Very straightforward and only one bwf to climb over.Peterb15/10/2021
As per Underhill, through couple of gates, bwf and quick to the top.Stevooo22/08/2021
as others from north one easy bwf to hop new plantingunderhill23/06/2021
1 x verge parking just uphill of the critical gate SO2117093895. Sheep vocalising loudly at my intrusion.Isbjorn15/04/2021

Didn't care for this hill. Too many BW fences and an insignificant top. Up the farm road to the west but descent to White Hall farm.NormanW01/10/2019

From north along field edges, fence to HPPeterD08/04/2019
As others from passing place to the north over field and single bwf.N.Morters05/04/2019
7/7 Marilyn day. A short evening walk up the farm track from the minor road to the north, then followed fences, one of which had to be climbed, to locate the summit field. (S)silveracorn_alan07/08/2018
Quick up and down from road to north (the tarmac is a passing place) - plenty room near it.SS25/07/2018
Approach from NNW - used the lay-by (parking area) which has good views.ger30/04/2018
From NW on farm track beside hedge, through 2 fields over fence & wandered about wondering which blade of grass was the highest point. Sheep didn't follow me on way down as they probably had worked out I did have food for them.rogreeves19/02/2018
A very easy walk to start the day, by the usual routeGill02/11/2017
12/12M last of the day in fading light, from the north through 2 gates and over 1 fence.robertphillips19/10/2017
With TJB. From road to northtrimarc205/07/2017
Approached from the north. No feature, in grassy sheep field. Lovely views on a hot sunny day ( on own) Part of a circular route from Montgomery.Denise 07/05/2017
20 min bag from road to N; via fence at 212938. Lovely evening light. I have a moral claim to having done this as a full walk from Montgomery; we only had a 1/50K map then, and walked round it on good tracks and quiet lanes, but I felt uncomfortable about leaving ROWs trying to find the top without knowing which fences to follow then (on 26/12/2005- see Town Hill log)pwheeler02/05/2017
From north. Lots of healthy looking and sounding ewes and lambs around.Topographer5705/04/2017
From Cwmberllan, then along forest roads, then up from SSE through forest, over some fences to SSE top and main top (not recommended). Down north to lane (recommended). Alan Moore05/04/2017
Just enough time to fit this and Town Hill in before cycling back to Welshpool.Alex C31/03/2017
From minor road to N. Sheep pastures with 1 stock fence to negotiate just before the top - in a sheep pasture.jonglew27/03/2017
Revisited with SG from car parked on road to N - particularly noisy sheep in the summit field.Smudge26/03/2017

W Jenx and Myrddyn, from tarmac spot on left of lane high point and thru gate direct to parish boundary fence, then current top. Surveyed that and nearby alternate (Meall Dubh) - back via Camp Farm and interesting farmer (Gordon Davis)nordicstar03/10/2016
Great fun surveying the hill then talking with the local farmer.jenx03/10/2016
Space for a car by gate to the North. Good view back to Montgomery War Memorial.huwthomas27/08/2016
With Trefor. From North. track most of way then across field. 2nd of 5 Marilyns today.mike.hoult12/05/2016
Similar experience to SteveSmith but I note that his temporary cairn has been eaten by hungry sheep. Nice views from the top on a sunny but chilly day with a biting wind.Father Ted10/04/2016
KeithByTheC14/03/2016
Parked in layby/passing place north of summit. Quick up and down following farm track alongside fence. Summit in pasture land with no marker, also no gate through fence. Did make a temporary cairn out of sugar beet scattered around as sheep feed.mntainman23/02/2016
Quick up and back from nearest road (n-ish). Last of 4 today a reet varied bunch. Held out very little hope for this un but partly because the hill was short grass and partly because of the superb 360° view I was suitably pleased. Made even better by being on tge summit at dusk. Theres nothing marking the top though there is a sheepie feeding atation a wee bit below. 1 b/w fence.stig_nest14/02/2016

Parked nr Perthybu and approached via forestry tracks, nice evening walk.steve_a16/08/2015
Parked where the bridle way meets the minor road west of the top at 204935 and followed this past holiday cottages and in to a strip of forest with a pond. Followed the far side of this up through gates to high ground and the top. Only problem was frisky bullocks in one of the top fields. Fine views but one for tickers only.mindlessflogger21/06/2015
