After Meall Loch Steallaig. Parked at cemetery. Up road to house & farm building. ATV track from about 941467. Left it at a post at 94387/47050, on to grassy path & soon rejoined ATV track. Left it again at 94724/47383 & ENE to fence then to Meall Loch Steallaig. Down from Beinn Donn to Achnacone House.duchally03/04/2023
From cottage we are renting in Appin up SW slopes.Winterfloodian05/06/2022
1st part as per Hugh's book. Parked at Creagan Inn, through the archway, over a gate, track around back of deserted building, through a 2nd gate, cross the small stream on the right and up the slope (on animal tracks) to a gate in a wall then up the ridge. From there we continued on a full horseshoe over the next 2 TumPs then onto the 2 Simms Beinn Mhic na Ceisich and Meall Ban, then down to col and up beside a fence to Meall Don. Left a car. From the summit of Meall Donn descended relatively directly SE to pick up an ATV track and back to Inverhyle where we left a 2nd car. Quite a big walk to do these 2 marilyns 11.2 miles, 3,750ft of climbing. Very soggy underfoot around most of the ridge. Out for around 7.5hrs. With KeithByTheC.JulieB06/05/2022
Long descent and reascent from Meall Ban. Kept by fence on ascent to avoid worst of the bogs. Descended steeply down grass into gully and followed stream on east bank. Then down ridge and ATV tracks to disused railway track near An t-Seana-chroit. KeithByTheC06/05/2022
Parked at the cemetery. Discovered that the Covidiots have spoiled this arrangement but I was allowed to park. Either ask at the croft house ASAP after arrival(but don't take a dog) or use the community car park in Appin. I went across the field below the croft house heading E to an obvious small gate, over a small stream, then across the field to a gate by a cattle crush, where an ATV track heads up to a wooden gate and continues a long way up the hill, eventually following a fence. At about 350m there is a cross fence to the right and then another higher up, where I contoured round the tedious looking Tump to the valley below Beinn Donn, crossed the stream and contoured eastwards to the small valley below the summit. Good animal tracks to the top. Direct descent from the summit to the stream was nasty and rough, glad I didn't go up that way.Gill18/09/2021

From Glen Stockdale end with MKG, with Beinn Sgluich. Overcast, snow on higher hills, but dry. Rounsfell04/01/2018
Second hill of the two from the old station. Great sunset behind Mull. Not too rough or boggy between the two.jenx05/01/2016
With Jenx, from holiday park and old station to South. Beinn Churalain and Beinn Donn ACW. Good spur up to pt 430, after Churalain a drop to the beck between at 140m then climb back up Donn passing the old shepherds house and fank. Very wet in places, a good walk and better than taking the two separately. Easy drop back down direct to old railway line and car.nordicstar05/01/2016
From cemetery via MartinR's gate, from where a rough quad track leads up onto the west ridge. Stayed on ridge => 30 metres of reascent.Topographer5708/10/2015

Track and path up Glen Stockdale to Beinn Sgluich then back down and up to Beinn Donn, bit of a slog with a few false summits.AndrewFinnimore24/10/2013

Started from cemetery. Very friendly crofter at Appin, he is a hillbagger and aware of Marilyns. Key to access to the hill is gate at NM94121 46703. Waymarkers part of way put in by crofter's f. in law. Beware of false summit syndrome.Martin R25/04/2012

Climbed during a wet & wild New Year week in Appin. This one was quite literally out of the back of the house we had rented for the week. Most of the party were still sheltering from the worst of the gales, but Martin66, Shaky, MarkH & I set off up the open S slopes of the hill gaining the summit easily enough. Our original plan had been to walk round the head of Gleann na h-Iola & round to Beinn Churalain. Instead, Martin66 decided on a direct route SE off Beinn Donn persuading everyone else that it would be quicker, the snag with this cunning plan being the elevated level of An Iola. At the river a debate started as to just how feasible it was to wade it & how wet we were going to get when a spectacular thunderstorm swept up the glen. No-one fancied being zapped to start the year, so argument thus settled, we retreated down the glen by the river back to the old railway & back to the house.NotReallyABagger02/01/2012
Approach from Sallachan via the Bealach. Path good through forest. Long bumpy ridge towards a wonderful view. Return through Glen Stockdale with its limestone goodiesfasgadh13/02/2010

Usually wait for Liz to climb a hill before recording it. Turns out she did this in 09/71. so- Cold wind, sunny, snow on Corbetts, good views. A wee bonus. Parked in 2 car layby just past the T junction, north side of the road @ 957451.iangalbraith15/03/2006

Under railway bridge to Achnacone House. By stream and up over sheep pastures and wet swampy lank grass. Buggy tracks to open moor. Strenuous section on heather, 2 or 3 ascents - hands and knees stuff - with swampy descents on the other side. Green run to skyline and top was to the left. 11.10.arranc06/09/2004
