On way to Skiddaw via the Skill beck route. Quite strenuous but easy underfoot. | AlanDStewart | 16/09/2022 |
7.2 mile circular from Dodd Wood car park. We followed the Dodd summit trail up to the top. Descending than ascending out of the woods and onto the steep path to Carl Side. Then we headed easily towards Long Side, along edge to Ullock Pike. These must be the 3 closest together Wainwright's in the Lake District. We then descended the ridge steeply to just before Watches. Then followed paths near the road through the woods back to the car park. 846m ascent. Great clear views from Dodd especially towards Scotland. Carl Side was in cloud, but we soon left it on Long Side. A few people about. | DanTrig | 14/09/2022 |

Detour here on the way up Skiddaw. A nice flat respite before the final summit | thomasrandall96 | 22/04/2021 |
Solo fr Portinscale, (half-)ran up Tourist Route to Skiddaw then down (sketchy) shortcut path to Carlside Tarn, and delightfully along Long Side to Ullock Pike, then back up here in mild sunshine, with views. Descended S to Millbeck, minor rd to Dancing Gate, 200m SE on main rd then path SW over bridge, across fields where I was shouted at by an angry farmer who claimed he'd moved the right of way but there was no evidence on the ground. | NorfolkPT21 | 14/04/2021 |
