| Start ~ 349272, Mousthwaite Comb. Climbed the path up out of the Comb before following the track around the base of White Horse Bent as far as the col under Bannerdale Crags. Swung West here to paddle through the soggy slopes of Atkinson Pike to reach Mungrisedale Common. The weather varied between Rain, sleet, Hail & snow and the back again all with a very strong wind to drive it into your hood. I do concur with Wainwrights assessment of this hill. | Parked at GR 348272 at Scales and followed path towards Sharp Edge. It soon started to rain which turned to Sleet, hail and snow. The wind was forecast to be 40mph and it felt like it with hail stinging our faces. We paddled to the summit cairn which was surrounded by a moat.
