RAYNET radio operator for safety cover of The Great Lakes Fell Race. Walked in following most of the route forward from Stool End Farm to 3 Tarns, Bowfell Summit, Ore Gap, Esk Pike Summit, Esk Hause, Scafell Pike Summit, Mickledore, Foxes Tarn Gully to Sca Fell Summit. Manned checkpoint. Exited via Slight Side to Esk Dale.Went into cloud at about 800m initially and then it descended giving heavy rain and very poor visibility right through until after Scafell Pike Summit. Once on Sca Fell cloud lifted to give a beautiful clear and warm June afternoon. A good navigation challenge.higlett15/06/2019
