From Grasmere (up via Tarn Crag, back via Blea Rigg). From the east it looks a dull, flat grassy summit right up to the last moment when suddenly the views of the ScaFell ridge opened out - worth visiting for that view alone.wheresthepath22/06/2014

Took this the day after Glaramara... Set off all good then got V cold and wet on the top. Pork and Chillie pie - good. Took a bad turn on the way back and ended scaling a small cliff to get down and missing the main path and ending up walking a few miles further than I should have done.Tony Bailes20/04/2014

This was my main objective for the day. My ascent was from Langdale (sticklebarn NT car park), up to Harrison Stickle via Thorn Crag, then Thunacar Knott and up to High Raise. The main problem was the strength of the wind, I nearly got blown off my feet several times. Descended via Sergeant Man and Stickle Tarn.derlan07/03/2014

First visit and highest point on walk from Langdale alongside Mill Gill (mostly frozen) and Stickle Tarn (completely frozen). We trod across virgin snow for about 15 mins and the ascent of Sergeant Man was a scramble in these conditions- 6 in + of snow above 1000 ft. With Graham Cullen, trying to ease him into winter mountaineering after a frightening day for him on Scafell Pike in winter 1977. Continued over Thunacar Knott (qv for rest of route). Later climbed from Borrowdale with brother, Pete, seeing a Mountain Ringlet butterfly- very different weather then!pwheeler19/01/1985
