From Armboth headed down and across to the summit. Apart from Becs wee this was very uneventful. Nice summit and views from the cairn and wind shelter. From the summit we decided after much discussion and with the weather apparently going to turn to go down to Ashness bridge and walk the road back to Watendlath. However instead of walking back to High seat and down we cut across the heather. This was really hardwork. We finally got to Ashness gill with nowhere to cross. We Scared a red deer out the heather making this way already worth it. We found a way down the gill and chilled at the untouched and unseen waterfall. We headed up and out the gill down the actual path, passed the bridge before climbing what felt like K2 to get to Surprise view where I fell asleep. I was exhausted. After my sleep we walked the 2 miles back to the car. Headed home for a Godfathers, film inside man and loving.Scotty 2 Hotty21/07/2019

Circular walk from Armboth Carpark, Thirlmere. Had to drive around as the Dam wall/road was closed for works. Armboth onto High Tove. High Seat then Bleaberry Fell. Decided against dropping down to Walla Crag as it would have put too much onto an already long day [left home at 0500 and started walking at 1100!]. I wouldn`t walk this route in the summer as it would be far too boggy. Fortunately I was able to walk over most of the bog as it was frozen. Some patches were defrosting as I found out the hard way! Finished in the dark, however the permissible path along the west shore of Thirlmere was spot on!Butty12/01/2018

From Rakefoot including Walla Crag and High Seat. Heather top with Cairn. W81 first round.mick15/02/1988
Solo sunny evening peak bagging after 2 days climbing at Shepherds with Mark (suffering badly with his asthma). Walla Crag- Bleaberry Fell- High Tove- -Ambroth Fell - Great Crag (a mini wilderness). Many rough, tussocky, swampy bogs. KSB boots (no gaiters- a pity as put foot in bog - squeezed socks out). Dark as I reached road at Watendlath - so dark walk down road back to Derwentwater YH .Chris Pearson03/09/1986

Barrow House- Castlerigg- Walla Crag/Bleaberry Fell and back- Ashness Bridge- Barrow House. With family- just Pete and Dad to Bleaberry Fell. The scenery gets less interesting with height on the Central ridge but on a sunny day the rocks round this summit were a pleasant place to be. Only visit.pwheeler19/07/1975
