Parked at Maggies Bridge. The round of Mellbreak North and South Tops, Hen Comb, Floutern Cop, Banna Fell E Top, Gavel Fell, Blake Fell and Burnbank Fell. Cloudy day with some sun but chilly NE wind. Some snow left on the top of Blake Fell from the weekend but surrounding higher hills looked impressive - across to Grasmoor and Red Pike/High Stile. Worth mentioning the good track not on the map heading off NE from Burnbank that curls N to meet up with the bw below and facilitate a more direct return to Maggies Bridge. A round of the Loweswater Fells from Maggies Bridge, visiting Mellbreak (both tops), Scale Knott, Hen Comb, Floutern Cop, Banna Fell (E Top), Gavel Fell, Blake Fell, Carling Knott, and Burnbank Fell. A lovely autumn day, with the Buttermere area getting the best of the sunny weather, most of the Lakeland Fells were capped with mist. 23km with 1200m ascent taking me 8 hours. | silverwolf_alan | 27/10/2023 |

Waterend cp past Hudson Place and along lakeside path, first track up quite overgrown, so carried on to end of wood where path climbed up west to recently felled section blocking the path, turned south east up improved track until it turned overgrown and boggy, cut back west up path to 10 meters from top wall of wood. Nipped over wall onto Coffin Path. Followed this north west to 113217, where steep path leads up to pile of stones, then good path to summit. | Flatfield | 26/08/2023 |

Easy path to follow, good conditions, best views from Blake Fell | matty1971b | 15/08/2023 |
From the long lay-by in Loweswater up through various paths to join the track towards High Nook and then the path up to Burbank continuing on to Owsen Fell before retuning the same way. Met a local who is a neighbour of the much commented on irascible farmer in Lamplugh, living next door hasn't saved him from a telling off from both the farmer and his wife when using an apparently much used local cut through that includes the farmers field.
 With Boris. | ytfckent | 24/07/2023 |
This was Wainwright number three of the day. We were expecting the one off to the side to be the Wainwright so double checked the map. There was a clear view of the estuary and the Isle Of Man seemed enormous today. | JThorn | 27/05/2023 |

Amazing day out with trimarc2 & GFE. Cloudy initially but up to 20 degrees and sunny by the end of the day. A little later setting off as snuck in Whinlatter parkrun first. Finished for the most incredible pub meal (and drinks outside) at Kirkstile inn. Not like the Bank Holiday weekend experience over Keswick way I'm sure! | Fionalevey | 28/08/2021 |

Wander out during COVID lockdown with Dave F. Blow out the cobwebs. Parked Fangs Brow and followed track bearing right up to the cairn and onto Burnbank. Started raining not heavy but donned waterproofs. Burnbank and onto Blake Fell. Bit boggy but not too bad. Great views from Blake and all the way back. Some of the best views in the Lake District for not much effort! Coming off Blake and a sheep skeleton on fence. Looks like the sheep caught his head and horns in top part of fence, died and eaten by crows/foxes et al and just the skeleton left hanging there. Great views all the way back down to the car and some Belties to boot. | Mark T | 27/11/2020 |

2/7 Birketts Owsen fell, Burnbank Fell, Loweswater End on Carling Knott, Carling Knott, Blake Fell, Sharp Knott, High Hows Lamplugh. All from Lamplugh Church. Walked up road to North for about a mile to get open access to fell to avoid upsetting the farmers and on way down to High Hows had to tackle the closed forestry section - which was feasible because it was Sunday so no chopping down today. Need to go steady down the track muddy but ok. Then went to Cogra Moss reservoir and used footpaths back to church. Nice round. 4 hours. | nickywood1 | 20/10/2019 |

This planned weekend was up in the air for a while this week after Adele’s diagnosis so Myla had to come home as she had Chicken pox. Anyway managed to get a day but with no money because of a £500 MOT we decided not to stay over. Setting off at 5:45ish and no Maccies breakfast we made our way around on Whinlatter pass to Maggie’s bridge carpark on Loweswater just before 8am. Making our way through Holme Wood with my new found walking stick then taking a left for the more direct route to the summit. Very steep and lung burning but fairy quickly reached the summit cairn by the fence. | Scotty 2 Hotty | 13/04/2019 |

Parked on the edge of the Lamplugh road and took the clear path that goes down towards Ennerdale. At the point where it turns down we turned up a well trodden path though not signed or on the map. the path took us straight up to the top of Burnbank fell then onto Blake Fell and finally Gavel. from here we dropped down another clear path though not on the map towards Crummock and gradually walked round to meet the original path that we had left. Lovely sunny day though a good breeze on top. Walked with Chris. | karentracey | 08/07/2018 |

Mellbreak the Return. After a memorable day in the Loweswater hills three years ago I returned with Mark hoping for a better day. Walking from Maggies Wood car park, the steep climb up to Mellbreak was in sunshine retracing our steps and dropping down to cross Mosedale Beck to tackle Hen Comb head on. As we approached the summit the rain started and as we climbed Gavel Fell it was getting quite breezy. Glad to stop for lunch in the shelter on Blake Fell before we carried on to the still uninspiring 'top' of Burnbanks Fell. Weather improved on the descent to Holme Wood and the car and a welcome pint in front of the log fire at the Kirkstile Inn | Philip A | 03/05/2018 |
