With brother and his wife, WB and Dave, Catherine. Another hot day. From Glenridding to Helvellyn via Striding Edge, then to Grisedale Hause (welcome swim in tarn) then contourd across to St Sunday Crag. Fairly quiet on hills. Long walk for the heat. Welcome pint at bottom.niallp04/07/2018
From Patterdale YHA via Nethermost Pike East Ridge, then Neethermost Pike, High Crag & Dollywaggon Pike. Dollywaggon is a great little summit jutting out slightly from the main ridgeline; possibly the best summit on the entire Helvellyn/Dodds ridge. Stunning views on a warm, sunny day. Full marks to geological processes or God (delete as appropriate to your beliefs) for this one.wheresthepath24/06/2018

It was an early start from Glenridding. I parked for £3 in the Sports field and headed up the lane, before turning left to the path up to Birks. There were still Bluebells out and the views down to Ullswater were superb as there was a thin layer of mist in the valley. It was a slog to the summit of Birks before it became easier to St Sunday Crag. Nice to have it to myself on this summit and the views were stunning. I descended to Deepdale Hause and cut around Grisedale Tarn to the steep climb to Seat Sandal. The views West were great in the soft rather misty light all the main peaks were a dark silhouette against the milky sky. I headed north and straight up the wall to the cairn at the edge of the cliffs on Dollywaggon Pike. It was then an easy walk over Nethermost Pike and on to the summit of Helvellyn where I had 5 minutes on my own. I continued along Striding Edge which was much easier than I imagined with no difficulties to the summit of High Spying How.isabelle01/06/2018

Started at YHA Helvellyn and went up Swirral Edge in heavy fog, zero visibility from Catstye Cam which was good as I couldn't see the drop! Over Helvellyn and Nethermost Pike following the cliff edge in fog. Cloud level was 100m below the tops so Grisedale was in full sunshine!Nick13/06/2017

Parked in large free layby just north of the expensive UU Swirls car park. South along good forest track, which has better views since Storm Desmond, to Dunmail then up Raise Beck to Grisedale Tarn. Along ridge over all tops to Helvellyn than back down Browncove Crags path to car. Sadly not quick enough to be back before the ice cream van had packed up for the evening.Hillsidenick08/05/2017
