From Mardale Head, Rough Crag, High Street, Thornthwaite Crag, Stony Cove Pike, Hartsop Dodd and down to Hartsop. In the clag and rain almost from the outset - only a view of Brothers Water on the descent from Hartsop Dodd. Slushy snow on High Street. With Gillian. Many thanks to Harriet for the drop off at Mardale and the wet pickup from Hartsop.richard6902/01/2024

Part of an unethical bagging day. Such a fine ridge walk merits a wholehearted traverse rather than the summit beeline I took.Pete Pozman22/11/2021
Arrived early for parking at Haweswater end NY469107, The Rigg, Rough Crag, High Street, Rampsgill Head, High Raise, Raven How, Red Crag, Raven How, Low Raise, Castle Crag, back up and over Lady’s Seat to get an easy grassy descent down Band End until steep bracken near bottom hiding ankle wrecker holes, The Rigg, Wood Howe (water level low enough to walk out), parking.Isbjorn29/09/2021
Early start to get parked up at Mardale Head car park. The reservoir is completely dried up at this end. People are walking along the old road and can get onto the islands north of The Rigg. Anyway, I love walking up this ridge and should do it more often. Round 2 of Birketts. Solo.Dangerous Dave22/09/2021
Started and finished at the Haweswater head carpark and took an anti-clockwise circuit around the surrounding tops to reduce the impact of the strong gusting wind - Rough Crag, High Street, Mardale Ill Bell, Lingmell End, Harter Fell, Little Harter Fell, Adam Seat, Branstree, High Howes, Selside Pike and Brown Howe; returning via the Old Corpse Road. Great walk, superb views, good terrain, just under 5 hours with lots of stops for waterproofs on and off.summitter13/08/2021
