WOs 110 and 111; Bs. 94. Last day at Shap and rain forecast for p.m. Dropped and picked up at Swindale Head and followed W's route up the Nab and Howes but returned by the same route as wanted to fit in the Birkett Brown Howe via the corpse road as had to omit it on the Naddle horseshoe walk through exhaustion. Made it 30 mins. before rain started.BURGESS16/08/2017
W Jenx and Bryher from limited parking at Truss Gap. Along lane to Swindale Head then fine old track up past Hobgumble Gill and steep up onto Nabs Moor. Pathless then to Howes and the NE Top of Branstree. Motorway line then to Selside amidst increasingly heavy showers before descending the Old Corpse Road back to Swindale Head and car. A Sunday and not a soul seen, who says the Lakes is crowded? Jenx's penultimate WOnordicstar30/07/2017

Another Hill which was a surprise to find that it was a discrete hill. On the map it appears rather like the shoulder of a higher one. Torrential rain made further progress dangerous so decided to return to the car. A disappointing way to commemorate number 800!moorsman23/10/2013
