Parked in Martindale, up to Angle Tarn, over Buck Crag and Satura Crag, started raining and wind very strong and gusty, pushed on to Rest Dodd and down to The Nab. Not too boggy.Mark T21/07/2019

Descended straight down through the deer park following about 6 other people. Clear and obvious path with styles over walls and fences, Why are they still there if they don't want you to go that way. No warning signs until you get down through the park. Other walkers also were oblivious to this valley being a deer park. The signs say they prefer you to avoid the park but don't actually say you cannot go there. Saw more deer the day after on Place Fell.Craig6722/06/2019

From rest dodd the route over the clear Pete bog was clear, steep descent onto the nab then negotiate the bog the a mile or so walk to the top. great views from the summit, Myla enjoyed them so much she needed to take a dump and wipe her bum with grass...KIDS!! the route back was exactly the way we came because of the restrictions of the private land. was tough going getting back up Rest Dodd but from there all down hill and very easy!, stopped off and chilled on the beach at Hayeswater which was stunning and needed after a tough day. from there the straight forward path to the car for a night or IPA lamb sunday roast and a family film of Willow. Great day.Scotty 2 Hotty08/04/2018

Left Rest Dodd thinking that The Nab looked a long trek across peat bog and very uninspiring. How wrong we were! Parked on verge near Dale Head farm then walked up track towards The Bungalow for 300m then south across the lower slopes of the fell to a ladder stile over the wall. From there a distinct trod leads to a gap in the next wall. After crossing this second wall, follow a fainter path south along the west flank of the hill for approx 400m then turn northeast to reach the summit. I didn't see any prohibiting signs and, although the road is private, the fellside is Access Land. I returned by the same route; took about an hour up and forty minutes down. This was a solo ascent to tick off The Nab. Slight breeze, cloudy, odd shower. (PS - didn't see any deer.)Skip15/04/2016

Tenth summit today and the most controversial as its on private land but if you follow the route from Stuart Marshall's book Walking the wainwrights and walk from bonscale pike around the horseshoe to the Nab all you have to do then is mosey on down the slope and go straight to the road be careful if deer are presentWAYNE ROWLETT04/04/2015

Last hill on circuit from Beda Head. Contoured below Rest Dodd, boggy shoulder only mildly soggy. Saw herd of about 40 deer. Although only grassy, very steep descent N from summit would be serious in winter conditions.Aye Jimmy30/05/2014
Importantly, the No Right of Way notice on the gate giving access to The Bungalow is merely a statement of fact ..... it is not a right of way. This is necessary as the landowner has no wish to dedicate it as such. It is NOT however prohibitive and access is permitted along it. Indeed, on your right, just before the river, are a series of bridlegates and stiles giving access along a well used path to the lower slopes of The Nab.moorsman13/05/2014
