Walk: Martindale St. Martins- Dalehead- Heck Crag- Brock Crags- Rest Dodd- back down NW ridge- The Nab- N. ridge- St. Martins Ch. I used the stalkers' track to below Nab End: round W of the ridge, though narrow in places, it went well- after some very wet weather; no need to go anywhere near The Bungalow- gates/stiles and a trod all the way to the track. Private sign at gate to road but NB Access Land notices with 'preferred routes' Clouding over with some rain in the air at times from Rest Dodd after sunny start.pwheeler16/03/2024

Hartsop > Pumping House > Rest Dodd > The Nab > Satura Crag > Brock Crags > Hartsop. Solo walk, light rain turning heavy for a couple of hours in the middle of the walk. Wind was also far stronger than forecast, I'd estimate 35-40mph. Had to bypass the hags on The Nab completely to the East. Very wet underfoot but cloud base kept high so views throughout.johnkaysleftleg31/03/2023

Ramps Gill Round clockwise from St Peter's Church with Jim, Jus & Cat, on a day where the forecast heavy rain thankfully never materialised. 15ht and final hill of the day. A few descent leaps got us across the peat bogs from Rest Dodd. It took rather more effort and time to get Cat and her fear of heights down the terrifyingly steep path descending off Nab End; once down there was a clear, decent path all the way to the north end of the drive leading to The Bungalow. Would only recommend this route in descent as there are private signs at the road end of the path but not at the mountain end.wheresthepath28/09/2019

Descended straight down through the deer park following about 6 other people. Clear and obvious path with styles over walls and fences, Why are they still there if they don't want you to go that way. No warning signs until you get down through the park. Other walkers also were oblivious to this valley being a deer park. The signs say they prefer you to avoid the park but don't actually say you cannot go there. Saw more deer the day after on Place Fell.Craig6722/06/2019

Left Rest Dodd thinking that The Nab looked a long trek across peat bog and very uninspiring. How wrong we were! Had to make a careful descent before quite quickly traversing the deer park but what a wonderful view down Martindale awaited us-perfect lunch stop and a spot of sun-bathing.Peak Rambler01/06/2017

Via track to the unusual bungalow. Couldn't follow the path shown on the map making a rising traverse so took route 1 to the summit. Not one for the bracken season. Parked on verge near Dale Head farm then walked up track towards The Bungalow for 300m then south across the lower slopes of the fell to a ladder stile over the wall. From there a distinct trod leads to a gap in the next wall. After crossing this second wall, follow a fainter path south along the west flank of the hill for approx 400m then turn northeast to reach the summit. I didn't see any prohibiting signs and, although the road is private, the fellside is Access Land. I returned by the same route; took about an hour up and forty minutes down. This was a solo ascent to tick off The Nab. Slight breeze, cloudy, odd shower. (PS - didn't see any deer.)Skip15/04/2016

Importantly, the No Right of Way notice on the gate giving access to The Bungalow is merely a statement of fact ..... it is not a right of way. This is necessary as the landowner has no wish to dedicate it as such. It is NOT however prohibitive and access is permitted along it. Indeed, on your right, just before the river, are a series of bridlegates and stiles giving access along a well used path to the lower slopes of The Nab.moorsman13/05/2014

Stuart Marshall's Easten Martindale Fells starting from St Peter's Church. Included The Nab as an out-and-back from Rest Dodd. Managed to not bag Rampsgill Head as I couldn't be sure if I'd found the summit in the low cloud that lasted most of the day. Amateur! I'll have to get it at a later date. A long day.
