1hr 20 mins up from Cruachan Station with its ingenious Anderson's 'piano wires' -if cut by falling rocks -the signals default to stop. Tree route and boulder clamber path was fun to dam road then v steep 1:1 grass (it felt like) for ever to get my teeth (studded fell shoes) stuck into. Outrageously sparkling day of absolute golden November clarity. Not a breath of wind - shorts and t-shirt all the way -just needed a second layer on icy summit. 15 mins on top exploring the far east top above a dramatic corrie edge. 51 mins down -only slightly quicker by parachute. Feeling fit at moment - reward for training for the OMM just 2 weeks ago. L says I'm having my usual annual b'day crisis and need to do something tough! Beautiful low sun glinting along the length of well named Loch Awe. Cruachan and its tops all looking so close and detailed. Pity it goes dark at 5pm as I only set off at 1.07pm after morning dog walk to Oban. 22 cars of lucky walkers in layby on this glorious Saturday.Chris Pearson11/11/2023

From Cruachan Station, up east side of dam and up to Lairig Torran. Very steep up to summit, probably better lines to the west, but ok. Back same way.Flatfield16/06/2023

Parked Cruachan Station. Walked to reservoir, then directly ascended Beinn a' Bhuiridh which was steep up and steep down the other side. Main path to Stob Garbh, Stob Daimh. Out and back to Sron an Isean. Main path to Drochaid Ghlas and then Ben Cruachan, Cloud cleared on arrival, only person all day to see the views! Added on Stob Dearg [Taynuilt Peak] due to the good conditions. Contoured back to the path and summited Meall Cuanail before dropping back to the reservoir. All summits clear, spectacular views throughout. Solo.meltdiceburg18/09/2022

A big day doing the most of the Cruachan massif. Roadside parking at Cruachan Falls. Straight up the steep tiny track to the hydro access road, then to the dam and along the track on RHS up to Lairig Toran. Then followed a grassy rake up the steep the Corbett, Beinn a'Bhiridh, back the same way to re-join the main track up to Stob Garb, and (Munro) Stob Daimh. Next branched off east to bag Sron an Isean, and back west along the main ridge to Drochaid Glas, and the main Munro Ben Cruachan. Out and back to Stob Dearg, before a diversion off the principal route down to bag another MT, Meall Cuanail, on the way down. Altogether 21km with over 2000m ascent taking 11 hours.silveracorn_alan27/08/2022

Straight up and down from the not quite a layby at the station. Under the railway, then up the steep eroded path through the trees, then through ferns to the point where the fence heads downhill from the track, there is a gate at this point. Up to the grassy knoll at 500m asl. Mostly grassy from there, some avoidable rocky areas. Mercifully not as windy as forecast and dodged the showers.Owen B18/06/2022
Ben Cruachan, Drochaid Ghlas, Stob Daimh, Stob Garbh and Beinn a Bhuiridh. Beautiful sunny day and moderate breeze. Visibility superb- Arran, Jura, Rum, Mull etc. Time taken 7.5 hours including stops for 10.6 miles.isabelle05/06/2022
Ascended up Monadh Driseig ridge, very windy but mostly dry and views gradually improving. The descent to the Lairig Torran was sporting to say the least, and thence down to Coire Ghlas just as steep, but it gave a nice circuit and pleasant walk down the glen back to the starting point by the A85Rockdoctor10/05/2022
With Sue from the layby near the station and up the well eroded Falls of Cruachan path to the east track to the dam. Passing through two gates to access the steep ascent of west shoulder of Beinn a, Bhuiridh avoiding the crags. A good test for the calves and thighs. Warm pleasant day often clear but chilly on summit.Frank01/05/2022

Solo cycle up track to old quarries and continued on foot into Corie Glas. Steeply up to summit from Lairig Torrin. Heavy rain, high winds and dense fog made for an interesting descent to Monadha Driseig. Descent from here to low point in ridge and back to the quarry track and the bike.John Lee05/11/2021

decided to leave Tam at home today. Lonely on the hill without him.TamCollie01/05/2021
Along the track from the A85/B8077 junction until it runs out a little way up the Allt Coire Ghlais. Pretty easy going from there given the dry conditions, although the final pull to the Beinn a'Bhuiridh - Stob Garbh beallach required a couple of stops to catch our breath and take in the views. Once at the Beinn a' Bhuiridh the views improved still further, and the walk along to Monadh Driseig was a delight amongst cloudless skies and warm sun. We got back to the track via a descent to the disused quarries and only had the Highland coos and calves left to negotiate. 3.45 leisurely hours.summitter24/04/2021

Last of day just as rain started. Iain rightly decided to wait at col. Ascent only took 15 mins or so but was slippery with no path. Physically and mentally crushed after so tapped the cairn, took a 360 degree look around and headed back down. Missed the path down to the dam. 3hr drive and a wee party after.iangpark31/07/2020
