From Mickle Fell on a non-firing day. Good vehicle track to the trig point then rather wet going. A featureless hill. Then on to Bink Moss.Alan Moore07/10/2019
From Hargill Bridge, wide roadside verge parking (NY 8836 2150). Good track to NY 8818 2373 then across rough grouse moorland to Bink Moss. Continued on to here picking up the East Top on the way. From 873212 via Standards. The plastic matting north of the grouse butts gives easier walking access towards the north edge of Long Crag. 9.2 miles taking under 4 hours return with GB.bolton17/03/2016
Plenty of room to park by gate at start of track at NY87194 21134 – Up gravel vehicle track to high point & then a short walk SSE to summit of Standards – Back to gravel track & then followed track alongside shooting butts – At end of track headed NW for about 100m to start of boardwalk/plastic matting which we followed to 856242 – Final 1½km across mostly short heather to the accepted summit. From top of Standards. Easy until after grouse butts, then very wet and track, if any, hard to follow. Summit area large and flat, and inside of Warcop ranges by about 300yards - all seemed quiet today, so took my chance and lived to tell the tale. Difficult to discern highest point - but went with the accepted GR of 84283,25243 - small cairn.Crib Goch08/01/2015
From east of Grains O' Th' Beck following track to Closehouse Mine, via Standards, and then following grouse shooters track to the fence line, with a final few hundred yards of heather to the small summit cairn.Fisky Boy07/09/2014

Continued from top of Standards via obvious grouse butts and grousers' track. Very flat summit with cairn of three small stones at top end of a grass & bilberry patch. There appear to be many other summit contenders though...Aye Jimmy05/07/2013
Travelling from the south (Grains) you can follow a vehicular track as far as the end of the shooting butts. There is then a further intermittent track giving access for grouse feeding. This starts to the west of the last butt and makes its way alongside the white posts marking the feeding stations. Saves a lot of heather bashing!moorsman16/05/2012
Found the ridge after walking across from Hagworm Hill and entering the firing range (not active today). yorkie11/04/1999
My last English Bridge top. Early morning drive up from Sheffield (2 and half hours) Set off at 10.30am before a predicted storm arrived from the SW (during which 5 people were killed by falling trees & debris). Track to Close House Mine - working again - barite ore found here & Rosasite -a rare mineral;then range danger posts followed up to flat top & cairn. Down same way. Time to add Iron Band (as now bagging Deweys 500m tops and on to W'mere (brother & family and then to Southport( parents).Chris Pearson24/12/1997
