Second of five new Nuttalls, six in total with Cross Fell which I'd visited many years ago. Tough walk, 22 miles all in.simocity14/04/2024
Walk from Garigill: Bullman Hills (both tops) Long Man Hill and Round Hill. 15 mile trek, a lot of it off path. Variable weather, everything form sleet to warm sunshine.Lazylizzie01/10/2023
Along the track from the north and up through the old mine area.robertphillips10/09/2023
Started from Clay Bank carpark. Ascended via a wide track, then through woods and onto Cleveland Way. Returned via Cleveland Way and rocky steps down to main road (from Helmsley). Little wind, sunny spells and cloud. Plenty of purple heather.Phileas Fogg02/09/2023
From Garrigill, solo along with Bullman Hills and Long Man Hill. Nice day out.dchill0113/07/2023
Walk up from the end of the minor road. Easy walking on track and tarmac before heading up a bit of a path through the old mines along the Calvert Burn to the summit. Lovely sunny morning with mist in the valleys. Good views to Cross Fell group. Touch of frost on the ground. Lots of wildlife. Spent 10 minutes on the summit just enjoying the solitude. Time taken 1 hour 45 minutes for 4.75 miles and 807 feet of ascent.isabelle09/04/2023
Garrigill via Pennine Way to Pikeman Hill, Longman Hill, Cross Fell plateau, Rake End, Crossgill Head, Round Hill, Noonstones Hill, Paper Hill, South Tyne River path to Garrigill. A fine clear cold day with light showers later.Vin14/02/2023
Four tops in three short walks. First Round Hill from Tynehead road end, easy going. Then drove round to Flinty Fell from North, located unmarked summit with OS Locate. Then round to do Burnhope Seat and Dead Stones via the ski tow. This last also easy going but it would have been a different matter after a wet spell I suspect.dickscroop07/07/2022
23.8 miles 3815ft walk. Bullman Hills, Long Man Hill and Round Hill from Ousby.stephenbuda04/07/2022
Long Man Hill, Bullman Hills(both tops) and Round Hill. From Garrigill.Longwojo26/06/2022
Cross Fell from Garrigill on the Pennine Way with detours for Long Man Hill and Bullman Hills, returning over Round Hill.rhalstead21/03/2022
From the end of the C road from Garrigill (NY757383) 1 x parking just before the NUVBTP sign. Gravel track, becoming tarmac, to gate at NY754349 and up grass track to old mine buildings. Then coarse grass along S side of fence to summit. Nowt to stay for in 50 m viz, so returned same way – the dry road gave some opportunity to dry dew soaked boots in the wind. High P – nice weather? – pah! Cold wind, low cloud and mizzle, drizzle, rain, all day - it’s a Bank Holiday!Isbjorn29/08/2021

From Bullman Hills via Crossgill Head. Predictably boggy but could be worse. Cross Fell and the Dun Fells look quite impressive from this side and in spite of the bleakness, I enjoyed the feeling of being right in the fells. On to Bellbeaver Rigg.Wycombe Wanderer09/09/2020
Added Round Hill to Nuttalls route of Bellbeaver Rigg and Viewing Hill.dgresty09/08/2020

A misty start but by the time I'd reached Long Man Hill, the clouds had lifted. When I reached Round Hill I was in the sunshine and enjoyed far reaching views. I loved this summit.morgs4mountains21/07/2020

Kirkland > Greg's Hut > Cross Fell > Little Dun Fell > Great Dun Fell > Knock Old Man > Meldon Hill > Viewing Hill > Round Hill > Greg's Hut > Kirkland. One of the hardest and most ambitious walk I have ever done. Hardest bag was the walk to Meldon Hill from Knock Old Man due the the terrain. Otherwise the hardest parts were the river crossings required for the route I took. Drizzly rain for pretty much all the time and had to walk to Greg's hut and back from/to Kirkland in dark with head torch. Solo. Don't know how far I walked but my watch said 64,000 steps / 6,000 kcsl mostly 'off-piste'.axoree14/08/2019

SECOND OF 10 BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN DAYS WHILE CAMPED AT ALSTON. ENCOUNTERED GROUSE SHOOTING PARTY NEAR SOUTH TYNE HEAD BUT NO PROBLEM. CIRCUIT FROM GARRIGILL FOLLOWING NUTTALLS ROUTE 9.1 OVER GREAT DUN FELL, LITTLE DUN FELL, CROSS FELL, BULLMAN HILLS, LONG MAN HILL AND ROUND HILL. VERY TIRING BUT MADE IT BEFORE DARK.BURGESS26/09/2015
Overnighted just over the watershed from the source of the s.tyne. walked up past Moor house and out and back to Knock Fell. Then over the Duns to Cross Fell and then out to Round Hill via Gregs Hut. So to my last N.Pen Hewitt. The crossing of crossgill pants didnt look inviting at all. however upon arrival I saw that there had been a plastic mesh laid down and so followed this away from the wall/fence and it led all the way to Cross Gill quickly and without incident. I then made my way through burnt heather and a few squelchy sections gradually meeting up with the fence again. far better than I'd dared hope for. The wall encountered higher up does not have a gate etc. so it's either climb over the wall or cross it at the fence just before the summit cone rises. A small cairn with a lovely view to the hills west and to Cow Green. Descended back to track and car.stig_nest08/08/2015

Nuttall walk 9.6: Viewing Hill - Round Hill - Bellbeaver Rigg - Tynehead Fell far South Topronaldo33302/09/2014
From Garrigill, drove up the road towards source of South Tyne. Walked on 2.5km (as the remnants of Hurricane Bertha approached and the skies darkened) and then turned up to the summit. Returned amidst thunder, lightning and torrential rain. A delightfully refreshing walk after 5 hours on the motorway!ruthatlast08/08/2014
