Predictably fine. Was dismayed to see a sign saying that 'unfortunately' pines were planted on the hill in the 60s and that some supposed conservation trust intend restoring it to the same boring, overgrazed grassland as most of Britain's denuded hills.Wycombe Wanderer26/02/2023

From the nature reserve car park, steeply up to the summit and trig. Great views from the top. Continued over and back round the base of the hill, few bluebells starting to appear in the woodland below.Jephcote8316/04/2021
Very first hill of the year following easing of Covid-19 restrictions. Lovely early spring evening ascent following 4 hour drive from Suffolk and before checking in to local campsite. Started from Pontesbury Hill car park, following the main track south before turning left up some stairs and the conveniently marked post with an arrow pointing to - The Summit. Bit of a lung buster considering not been up a hill for 4 months but well worth the effort. Went to the trig first then stood on rocky outcrop NNW of trig, but loooks like it is a bit lower than the trig. Returned the same way.mntainman14/04/2021
From CP to N. Used the direct steep path on a very wet day. A nice hill well isolated with good views, although the weather closed in on us from the west. With whole family. About 180m ascentRoguePulsar24/10/2020

1.1 mile up and down from car park north, followed main track out of car park (not steps), walked around the corner and followed sign to summit, steep ascent to top from there, good views of surrounding hills with the cloud just starting to clear off Stiperstones, a few people about. Afterwards drove round to The Bog and did an 11.7 mile walk taking in Mucklewick Hill, Black Rhadley Hill, Nipstone Rock, Stiperstones and The Paddock.DanTrig20/06/2020

First beautiful day of Easter holidays, so couldn't resist popping out somewhere. A bit creaky after a winter of pretty much no walking, so a little jaunt up here was quite lovely. Great walk from the car park to the N across Pontesford hill, then a steady ascent up Earl's Hill. Superb views, interesting perspective I haven't seen before, notably the rear of the Breiddens and Long Mountain.tumpawumpa05/04/2018
Up by path on the SW shoulder. Great views include snow capped mountains to the NW gleaming in sunshine. Steep descent N down steep greasy path back to car park.RichardM30/11/2017

Took the wooden steps up from the car park and then a second set of wooden steps lead to a long steep ascent through trees. Emerged onto a short bit of pasture. Splendid all round views but darkness creeping in so didn't linger.Herbert Anchovy22/09/2016
