From Linn of Dee; Carn a Mhaim, Ben Macdui, Beinn Mheadhoin, Creagan a Choire Etchachan, Derry Cairngorm and back over Carn Crom to Linn of Dee. Walked the whole way time 11 hours for 24.25 miles. Showery and cold on the plateau with winds gusting to 50-60mph. Saw Golden Eagle Ptarmigan and Snow Bunting. | isabelle | 02/10/2023 |
Anti-clockwise circuit of Derry Cairngorm, Ben Macdui & Carn a'Mhaim from Derry Lodge. Summits clear all day. | geoffh12 | 23/09/2023 |
Circuit with camping from Linn of Dee taking in tops on E side then W side of Glen Derry. Climbed Meall an Lundain from south, trackless terrain, continued along ridge to climb Beinn Bhreac and Beinn Bhreac West Top. Crossed quite boggy ridge to climb Beinn a' Chaorainn Bheag, bypassed Beinn a' Chaorainn itself on descent to high point of Lairig an Laoigh. Steep climb to Stob Coire Etchachan, and easy ground to Beinn Mheadhoin SW Top and the excellent vantage point of Stacan Dubha. Descended to Loch Etchachan and climbed Creagan a' Choire Etchachan, across to Sgurr an Lochan Uaine. Bypassed Derry Cairngorm on way to Little Cairngorm and then Carn Crom. Descent to Derry Lodge and back to Linn of Dee. Quite cold biting wind for much of route but views generally good with most summits reasonably clear for much of the time. | RobertP | 30/08/2023 |

Revisit to Derry Cairngorm walking over the hills missed last time. Carn Crom, Derry Cairngorm, Sgurr an Lochan Uaine, Creagan a Choire Etchachan. In Nov 1979 it was full on winter with so much snow that I did not realise Derry Cairngorm was a bouldery hill... and the paths were less obvious or not even there. My map still does not show many of the paths. Quite an eye opener. | sarahk | 27/08/2022 |

From Linn of Dee Car Park (NO 06291 89816) - Derry Lodge - Creag Bad an t-Seabhaig - Derry Cairngorm. Reversed the outward route back to Linn of Dee taking in the summits of Little Cairngorm & Carn Crom. Clear paths throughout, a few boulders to negotiate approaching and on the summit of Derry Cairngorm. There is a good path which by-passes the summits of Little Cairngorm and Carn Crom if you wish to avoid them. | david230201 | 10/07/2019 |
