From ski centre. Beinn a' Chruinnich, Carn Ealasaid and Tolm Buirich. Had a wander around summit area to all possible high points. With Lisa and Daniel. | CJM | 29/01/2024 |
Climbed with Louise Waters, Gemma Andreae, Jack Reed and Simon Walsh on an OMC Meet the Smugglers Hostel, Tomintoul. Climbed from Blairnamarrow up Càrn Ealasaid first then across to Beinn a' Chruinnich. Jack 'summited' one of the abandoned chairlift pylons. Returned via Allt Farbh-bheinne, 3:20hrs all in. | chillyman8 | 18/11/2023 |

With Rhona and Struie over Carn Ealasaid from small parking space just E of Blairnamarrow. Back via Beinn a'Chruinnich and when descended nipping westwards over Lurg Dhubh on path skirting edge of formaer woodland. NB. In spring and early summer, watch out for a large seagull colony on top of Beinn a Chruinnich. Chicks everywhere, running around. Def put the dog on the lead! | DampandDusty | 16/06/2022 |
From large layby on A939 at NJ224151, followed good track up to a col, then less distinct tracks near fence line to summit os Beinn a' Chruinnich, continued at first SW the SSW across col and up Carn Ealasaid mostly on tracks, then NW swinging to W across the heather, sedge and some peat hags to summit of Tolm Bùirich, then N following intermittent ATV tracks to Carn Breac, meeting the turning loop of a track from the W, but continuing on NNW, downslope on a foottrack along the line of grouse butts, crossed Allt Nuadh, skirted Lurg Mullaich, crossed Allt Blairnamarrow to an old ATV track that led up to the A939, and returned to the start (3h45m) | kdbennett | 21/03/2022 |
1 of 5: From The Lecht Ski CP. and again on our return leg. No seagulls. With Karen. | ChrisR | 09/11/2021 |
2/3 made way over peat hags from Carn Ealasaid, poor visibility and heavy rain, masses of seagulls by the top of the ski lifts, got over and droppped down to road before making way up to Hill of Allargue | PDuncan82 | 20/05/2021 |
Summit of the modest Lecht ski slopes - only 130m max drop but a good beginners area. Harrier & Falcon -2 of the 13 chair lifts top out close to the summit carrying upwards the more competent skiers capable of launching down the 2 difficult and the only very difficult piste here, as well as the baggy trouser youths - for the snowboard fun park. Dotted around the top are the obligatory random rusty bits of poles and wires and eroded concrete lumps. Snow making in season now exists on the lower slopes -there is a giant water tank near the day lodge for this use. | Chris Pearson | 23/09/2020 |
With Rob Quick ascent of Carn Ealasaid from ski center. | alexmaclennan | 07/09/2020 |
From Blairnamarrow up pretty much non existent path to shoulder then summit. Returned by the top with its mast and ski tows down to track and along road. | SS | 26/07/2020 |
A nice circular walk from parking above the old hotel at Cock Bridge. Pleasant stroll along the Burn of Loinherry, good stepping stones across the river. The track continues to the steepening below Carn Mhic an Toisich and animal tracks lead up to the ridge. Unpleasant here with the ski detritus and hundreds of screaming, smelly gulls, but the going is easy and quick to the top. You soon leave the gulls on a good path towards Carn Ealasaid. The only really boggy bit is on the climb towards the top, easily dodged. Down the easy track with grand views to Corgarff castle and a multitude of fine hills all round. | Gill | 25/06/2020 |

Up track from the Lecht | KeithByTheC | 13/05/2019 |
Badly scarred by ski tows. Many nesting gulls and a clutch of grouse eggs. Short blizzard near ugly top. | Campbell Singer | 06/05/2019 |
From E, up past ski lifts then MTB is useful route thru peat hags (when not in use!), much gull activity - walkers not welcome here! Level summit with concrete footing of defunct ski lift approx at HP. Nice convenient P80 to end the day | RHW | 27/04/2019 |
From Carn Ealasaid(qv), on a round from Blairnmarrow in fresh snow, on a sunny day. We descended the N. ridge and joined the track alongside Allt Garbh-bheinne to the A939. The track was slushy with melt and the S facing slopes above the Lecht already had too little snow for skiing. It looked beautiful and was winter conditions, but was really just fleeting spring snow. | pwheeler | 18/03/2019 |

An improvised walk late in the day, after I found myself without the maps for various hills I had planned, and unable to find a map seller in Dufftown. From the Lecht via the seagull colony to Beinn a'Chrunnich, then to Carn Ealasaid and back. Stay high on the intervening ridge to escape the clutches of the peat hags. And, for variety, walk up or down the mountain bike route from the Lecht, avoiding more bogginess. | Nick Down1 | 28/07/2017 |

On the way to Carn Ealasaid from the Lecht Ski center. On own. | MorecambeMonkey | 16/05/2017 |
Solo fr pub just N of Cock Bridge, some running but some too steep. Strong W wind on tops, cold and no shelter! On over peat to B a' Chruinnich with ski paraphernalia, then down its rounded S ridge back to car. On to stay in hotel near Nairn, expensive as it's summer and Nairn is popular. | NorfolkPT21 | 27/07/2016 |
