Continued to Sgurr Thionail and descended E ridge to Glen Quoich. Intermittent sunshine and showers with some excellent views down Loch Hourn and to the S Glen Shiel ridge. | RobertP | 30/05/2022 |

Second day of a caravan trip to Corpach, near Fort William and I settled on a hike on the north side of Loch Quoich (called Cuaich on some maps). There is a surprisingly well-built path up and over Sgurr Coire nan Eiricheallach (891m) and to the large cairn on top of Sgurr A’ Mhaoraich (1027m), a Munro.
There was cloud above 850m to start with, but this was lifting and by the time I made it to the summit, there were great views down Loch Hourn. I bagged the Munro Top of Sgurr A’ Mhaoraoch Beag (948m), then contoured across the southern slope of the Munro and down to Leac nan Gaidhseich, returning to the road at the newish turbine building and walked the roughly 4km back to the car.
Dry all day, even in the cloud, 6hrs all in. | chillyman8 | 29/05/2021 |

With family during our holiday. Up the 'standard' route (out to the Top alone) and then descended by south ridge. No views from summit unfortunatley, but had some good ones otherwise. A great mountain. | AGWilliamson | 12/08/2011 |

My 4th to last Munro with Smithy on a showery day with mist on the summit. Straightfoward ascent from Loch Quoich over the tops to the summit of Sgurr a'Mhaoriach. Went on to do its W top where a view briefly appeared & then for variety went N to the bealach & dropped E to follow Allt Coire a'Chaorain to join the track in Glen Quoich. This is a worthwhile diversion with a wild feel to it. | NotReallyABagger | 02/05/2003 |

Bagged on way up on gloriously sunny day, returned via south ridge and 1 mile road walk. | Dugswell2 | 19/05/1999 |
my first ascent, solo, overcast, climbed on the goc from a wild camp in gleann dubh lochan, followed the ally ban up, then broke out right to better ground and the summit of the minor top, 607 m. not a recommended route. continued up easier slopes to point 948 then onto the summit of sgurr mhaoraich, were there was a small snow flurry, picked up a rough path along the ridge over minor bumps to sgurr coire nan eiricheallach and the path down to loch quoich and my next camp. | rum doodle | 09/05/1998 |
