Nice walk from Kinlochleven free Grey Mares Tail waterfall CP. Mapped path along Loch Eilde Mor recently used by scrambling bikes and a right mess. Bike damage all the way to my turn off at Meall na Cruaidhe. Normally in favour of all hobbies but in this case found the damage so extensive it was upsetting - dread to think what the landowner makes of it.carole engel07/05/2023

From Kinlochleven car park. Good progress up the badly eroded path up through the woods. Onto the track, all the way to the east end of Loch Eilde Mor. Over the bridge, then ATV track for a short distance, then straight up.Owen B21/08/2022

A nice easy stroll on paths, providing that you can figure out a way to get through the hydro construction site at the outflow of Loch Eilde Mor. It’s no problem that the bridge has been removed; the difficulty is getting over or below the massive plastic pipe. Over requires an ankle breaking jump; below requires a delicate traverse of huge, unstable boulders close to the dam. The path onwards is pleasant, and the stroll up the hill is easy and fairly dry. To avoid the hydro, I walked back towards the Blackwater. Off piste wandering when the path petered out meant that I missed the descent to the Ciaran path, so I followed a good path by a concrete pipe, then a steep, rough, traversing descent to the main path. Very scenic through woods by the river, except at the end where the hydro scheme has left a massive trail of destruction, more like a landslide than a construction site. Angry.Gill07/04/2017

From Kinlochleven. Scottish 6 day bike trials also there so glad to get away from the noise. Decided on longer route to Blackwater, then north. Good choice as route was interesting in the gorge. Weather turned poor 45 minutes before the summit, thick cloud and heavy drizzle. Soaking wet by the time I got back.Jhimmy04/05/2016

A diversion on the walk in to Loch Chiarain bothy. A drizzly wet day but not too bad. Bothy OK except for three dead and rather smelly deer outside door (been there for at least 2 months according to bothy lodge) and no fuel for fire due to a complete absence of trees.dickscroop04/06/2015
Started at the Grey Mares waterfall car park in Kinlochleven and headed up a good track through woods to Loch Eilde Mor. I continued on towards Glas Bheinn up easy slopes to the summit. I decided to visit its North East point of Carn Dearg and then went down grassy slopes in an Easterly direction to ascend the Graham Beinn na Cloiche. From there I descended down easy angled slopes in a Southwesterly direction to pick up my footpath back. Took about nine hours but glorious weather with superb views.Peterb23/04/2015

From Loch Charain bothy with DCMartin6628/03/2010
Done from Loch Chiarain bothy walking in the previous day with Martin66 & Calum. Calum was using this as training for a planned 100 Munros in 100 days jaunt, although his feet seemed to have other ideas as he went through a whole packet of Compeed - my Compeed - on the walk in to the bothy. Left Kinlochleven & followed the path through the woods alongside the River Leven to the reservoir dam & continued over rougher ground to the bothy. A cold night not helped by Calum insisting we light the fire & burn all our fuel way too early. He then bailed out the following morning while Martin66 & I headed N up to Beinn na Cloiche. We then traversed W over very rough stuff to the N ridge of Glas Bheinn which we followed to the summit as occasional snow showers swept in. Descending the broad SW slopes was easy enough to rejoin the outward path to Kinlochleven - and a hobbling Calum - for tea & cakes at the Ice Factor. Not sure if Calum ever managed 1 Munro in 100 days afterwards never mind 100.NotReallyABagger28/03/2010

Solo. From Kinlochleven I walked up the path to Loch Eilde Mòr. I followed the path which goes over Meall na Cruaidhe. At 550m I struck a line for the summit of Glas Bheinn, finding a somewhat ill-defined path. I descended ~ S – low down finding a path besides an unnamed burn which drains the SW slopes of Glas Bheinn. I followed the path on the north side of River Leven. Very good weather – clear with very good views – Crowberry Tower on Buachaille Etive Mòr showed up well, for example. The paths were very icy, due to the low temperature – colder than the day before.pwbellarby25/01/1998
