Up from the bridge across the river the the SE.
I'd not made a mental note of the difference in height between this subsidiary top and White Howe so was bemused to see a hill the same height as this, next to the NE when I expected something substantially, like 30-40metres higher. It was only on checking did I find this was only 2metres lower!! | vegibagger | 19/05/2022 |
Another rounded hill but easy going on a path from White Howe. There is even a stile and protective sleeve round the barbed wire fence at the col | pwheeler | 01/03/2022 |
After dinner we dropped 200ft to go back up 200ft to the forest summit stone. Only took about 9 mins. | Scotty 2 Hotty | 24/07/2021 |

From White Howe. Descent south west to ruined brick hut passes through newly planted mixed trees, which should look good in 20 years! Gate by hut annoyingly locked. | KeithByTheC | 29/05/2020 |
From the east ( parking at track entrance) over pathless tussocky grass in wind, rain and low cloud. Small cairn in rough grass on top. Did not linger, onto White Howe. | Denise | 26/01/2020 |

Bannisdale horseshoe 2nd of 10 | Alan Caine | 29/08/2017 |
WOs 98-104; Bs 83-90. A lovely sunny day so went for the Bannisdale horseshoe which proved much easier than W suggests because of good paths most of the way. Joyce with me up Whiteside Pike, then sunbathed as the rest too boring and picked me up at Dryhowe Bridge. Good path on to Todd Fell, Capplebarrow and nameless top but bad bog before and after Long Crag (summit beyond wall) and rough tussocks down from The Forest and over Lamb Pasture. Shoulder high bracken descending directly from Lamb Pasture to Dryhowe Bridge. A very satisfying day for 9 WOs and 8 Bs. | BURGESS | 13/08/2017 |
