A splendid walk along a mainly grassy ridge from the car park at Crimea Pass on a very warm September day, visiting Moel Farlwyd, Moel Penamnen, Foel-fras and Y Ro Wen. Then return along the ridge, cutting below the summits on the south side to the Crimea Pass. Followed by a quick up and down of Moel Dyrnogydd. 18.5km with 810m ascent in 6 hours. From Crimea Pass. Moel Farlwyd, Moel Penamnen, Foel-fras, returned below Moel Penamnen (under the crags) then across A470 to climb Moel Dyrnogydd. Nice day with excellent viewsRobertP06/09/2020
Iwerddon, Allt Fawr, Moel Druman, Ygafell Wen, Ysgafell Wen North Top, Ysgafell Wen far North top, Moel Meirch and Moel Dyrnogydd. Parked at Crimea pass. Very hard walk, especially as it was completely pathless and ver boggy rough ground from Moel Merch to Moel Dyrnogydd. Cold July day.Lazylizzie14/07/2020
With Rufus from the Crimea Pass lay-by. Actually wanted to head up the hills to the east but the access land has got no obvious gates or stiles and the fence is shoulder high with multiple strands of barbed wire so I’ll look into that another time. Followed the track for a hundred metres and turned left to take the spur towards Llyn Dyrnogydd. Walk towards fence just SW of summit and to the top. One of these hills I’ve always looked at but never got round to.jacobrichmond20/03/2020

From the car park at the top of the Crimea Pass. A forty minute up and down after being dropped off. Headed for Moel Farlwyd next. Solo.bolton09/06/2017
11.2 mile walk from end of Blaenau Dolwyddelan road on sunny day with high cloud, walked up lane through Coed Mawr farm climbing on good track then followed pathless route up onto Yr Arddu followed small trail to summit, pathless route towards Llyn Edno and trail to Moel Meirch summit, headed south back to Llyn Edno and onto Ysgafell Wen North Top and Ysgafell Wen (lovely and grassy), onto Moel Druman and followed easy grassy trails to Allt-Fawr, by this time the cloud started pouring onto the ridge behind us, left Allt-Fawr in a hurry down to Iwerddon on trail and then pathless across to Moel Dyrnogydd, followed lane over Blaenau Tunnel (footpath on map doesn't exist)back to car. Only saw two fisherman at Llyn Dynogydd all day. Very underrated area of Snowdonia. After walk headed home via Mynydd Nodol.DanTrig07/06/2017

Walked up this from Roman Bridge train station then over Allt Fawr and down to Tanygrisiau. The path from Hendre exists only on the map, had a nightmare tussle with heather until I got onto the NE ridge. Should have taken the clear track that starts near the entrance to the Blaenau Tunnel instead. Hindsight is a blessing...Jake99430/06/2014
