Rough descent to RoW at 832.300 and a climb through the crags in Heather onto the plateau then a tough traverse of the blanket bog to Craig Dolfudr. 6/6 (Pen Y Bedw West Top/Pen Y Bedw East Top/Moel y Feidiog/Mynydd Bryn-Llech/Craig Dolfudr North Top/Craig Dolfudr) | Fergalh | 23/10/2021 |
Craig Dolfudr and Craig Dolfudr North Top, from the telephone box (SH853 308), with good parking next to the river. Followed Ronnie's perfect route up through the wood to reach the open fell. Then made my way through the heather to Craig Dolfudr, from where a decent little track leads to the north top. Retraced route SE back to the col and down the footpath (not a RoW) until it joined the bridleway near Craig-y-tan. Little uneasy about the last couple of fields as not access land but got down without issue. Then back along bridleway to the telephone box. 8.5km with 400m ascent in just under 3 hours. 4/6 - dry, mostly clear skies, increasing wind. Start point was parking at junction forest track/gated road (parking limited). Almost entirely path free rough and boggy ground | wychwood | 11/01/2020 |
Foel y Graig, Craig y Llestri, Craig Dolfudr and Craig Dolfudr North Top [Pennant-Lliw] (respectively) from the bridge at Dolhendre. Returned via ATV tracks to Craig-y-tan. V hard work for senior citizens. | summitsup | 29/07/2019 |
Parked at Llanuwchllyn cemetery for a 13.2 mile walk to reach the summits of Craig Dolfudr, Craig Dolfudr north top, Mynydd Bryn-llech and Ffridd yr Allt-llwyd in six and half hours. pathless and heather making this walk a tough day out. | WAYNE ROWLETT | 28/06/2019 |
Pleasant Dewey / TuMP circuit from bridge in Dolhendre. Foel y Graig, Craig y Llestri, camped before ascent to Ffridd yr Allt-llwyd, then Mynydd Bryn-llech, Craig Dolfudr North Top [Pennant-Lliw], Craig Dolfudr | RobertP | 31/03/2019 |
Parked at the beginning of a forest track by a chapel at SH 84961 31469 - plenty of space. Took the lane down east to Dolhendre Isaf, then followed the lane and RoW through Coed Bryn Bras, leaving it at the bwlch to climb up onto the plateau by Cerrig Cwibanog. A hard heather-bash from there to the summit. Continued to Pt. 519m. Solo. | Man of Kernow1 | 13/03/2018 |
Parked near phone box Dolhendre, over bridge and through Coed Bryn Bras, followed fence till near top then to Craig Dolfudr, across to North Top then some heavy heather bashing to Mynydd Bryn-llech.Then down faint path to Buarthmeini. Not an easy day. | dgresty | 11/04/2017 |
Parked by phone box in Dolhendre at 853308 - Over bridge, right at crossroads & RoW up through Coed Bryn Bras to col - NNW to summit rock. Continued to the N. Top. (S) | gerrybowes | 24/02/2017 |
Craig Dolfudr, Craig Dolfudr North Top and Mynydd Bryn Llech. Parked at 828325 but they put a note on my windscreen telling me it was private. More or less pathless and much harder than it looks on paper. | clivevilla | 05/11/2016 |
Started at craig y tan to the east then followed the path to the north shown on the 25k map. Need your GPS to stay on it but not too bad. | DARRENG | 29/08/2015 |
From Dolhendre phone box, good track to the col but rather hard going along the ridge. With Wombourne. | steve hudson | 19/08/2015 |
Parked at GR 852308 by telephone kiosk with room for two or three cars. Set off through forest then up onto open heath of heather, bilberry and tussock grass to Craig y Llestri then turned NW with no path and some bog for good measure to Craig Dolfudr summit. We followed a bit of a path to Craig Dolfudr NT then descended N to find the bridge over the river near Buarthmeini then walked the road back to car. Rained all day. With SH. | wombourne | 19/08/2015 |
Moel y Feidiog,Bryn-pig,Craig y Dinas,Ffrith yr Allt-llwyd,Craig y Llestri (from Ffridd yr Allt-llwyd onwards forget about paths - they do not exist) Craig Dolfudr,Craig Dolfudr North Top,Mynydd Bryn-llech 9hr 10 min walk over pathless heather and squelch. Not recommended. | ijpowell | 01/05/2015 |
From Dolhendre telephone box, easily following paths to Craig Dolfudr. Bit rougher to north top then heather to ROW below Mynydd Bryn-llech. Most of that pull on grass but return via ROW to Buarthmeini involved more heather and some interesting knee deep bog. Slow progress! | SS | 15/02/2015 |
From phone box. | mad max | 01/12/2014 |
3391 and 3392. Parked easily at Buarthmeini to NE. Through gate further up the road to bridge - (not obvious to find) Followed path but was tricky to follow so took a heather line to top. Between the summits is mainly a path and little/no heather. | destaylor | 07/04/2014 |
Last summit before a return to Dolhendre through the trees. | JohnStoneham | 30/06/2013 |
From Coed Bryn Bras - exiting trees via gate at SH834407. | Smudge | 16/10/2010 |
Climbed from Craig Dolfudr North Top. From the summit made N.N.east to Coed Dolfudr and joined a RoW. at a bridge over the Afon Lliw. Coed Dolfudr is still a real 'wild Wood'. | steve hudson | 08/08/2007 |
Solo, 2 and half hours around 3 Deweys to S of road having spent the same time doing tops to north of road. Nobody seen all day -unsurprisingly. All at the Christmas sales perhaps? Although Rob was here the day before I notice from his log! On my way from Sheffield to Leeds via here. | Chris Pearson | 27/12/1997 |
Meirionydd Dewey bagging, walk 1/3; Bryn-pig, Moel y Feidiog, Mynydd Bryn-llech, Craig Dolfudr N Top, Craig Dolfudr (fine rough hill, neat summit), Ffridd yr Allt-lwyd, Rhobell Ganol, Rhobell-y-big. | RHW | 26/12/1997 |
