Like John Barnard. Driving rain on the summit not as pleasant !Moorponder26/06/2022

From track to NW. Found ATV track in descent which gave easier going. Galltywenallt05/03/2022
Drove up track to NW as far as gate and power lines. Up hillside over pathless terrain; not too much tussock.PGCE22/07/2021

Parked at the beginning of the track at SN 75844 84796. Took the track up into the forest, intending to take the path through it where the track ends shown on the map. No such path on the ground. Returned to the point closest to the hill on the track, going up steeply SW under the power line to a col. Then SE over a series of minor tops to the summit, overlooking a pool. Returned by outward route.Man of Kernow115/09/2020

Easy parking at side of forestry track at 758847. Up track to LH band & about 30yd before fence & gate a faint ATV track heads up alongside the fence to the ridge – Straddled small metal gate & then up lumpy & tussocky ridge to the unmarked summit which lies just a few yards E. of a tiny lake. 1/6 First of six on sunny & wet cold day (Drybedd/Llechwedd Hirgoed West Top/Llechwedd Hirgoed SE Top/Allt Pant Mawr/Cefn Hirbysg/Llehweddy Glyn)Fergalh06/11/2016
From NW as per others. 1.5 hours round trip in cloud and rain using compass.ijpowell09/07/2016
Walked up on a round of Drybedd and Disgwylfa Fawr. Drybedd hard ground rough, much hummock. Started just south of the cattle grids either side of the Hirnant. Took a more or less direct line to Drybedd. There is a barbed wire fence to negotiate. The descent followed the fence on Bryn llwyd back to the road at a third cattle grid. Crossed the field directly to the footbridge. Followed the track to where there is a choice of two gates. Took the one on the right and climbed steeply to Disgwylfa Fawr. The return was down to the fords north of the fort and back along the track to the start. The walking on Disgwlfa Fawr was much better. Mainly short, sheep cropped grass and some other bits of hummock.MikeM16/05/2015
Easy parking to NW. Good track to gate by power lines then DIY - only bits of paths.destaylor05/08/2014
Start ~ 758847, Followed good forestry track to where the power cables crossed then climbed up onto ridge. Great views from the summit, with Wombourne & Ron.steve hudson08/04/2014
Parked at GR758847 junction with forestry road, room for several cars. Walked forestry road and went through gate shortly after passing under power cables then climbed steeply up grass slope to summit. Good views all round on a cold windy but dry day. With SH and Ron.wombourne08/04/2014
Used the track from west. Lots of deep fresh snow.Martin R11/02/2014
From Eisteddfa gurig (pvte car park £3 in honesty box) then west through forest as map showed a bog if you go SW around it. Well, it was all bog. And fell in river. Reckon best done from West where the track or bridleway start, then stay on high ground.dicky05/05/2013
Pont Rhydgaled to Ponterwyd: From Y Garn along forest edge then followed pylons onto NW ridge. Another fine summit view before wandering off to hit road near Dinas Reservoir.Smudge16/02/2013
Nice little lake. Locals were hunting foxes(?) with guns, dogs, hunting horns, and 4WDs petey13/03/2010
Made hard work of this, from eisteddfa gurig up track then though forest and direct climb. should have turned left and kept in the open less trees and less climb. slight rise above a small lakeRhayader_wander20/12/2007
